Domestic Trailer for "The Descent" SequelSubmit Comment
The domestic trailer for the upcoming "The Descent" sequel, which picks up immediately after the events depicted in the original, has appeared online. Check it out below.

Plot: Traumatized, Sarah Carter (Shauna MacDonald) emerges alone from the cave system where she confronted her darkest dread. With no rational explanation to what happened, the authorities force her back into the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing girlfriends. But as the rescue party enters further uncharted domains, flashbacks start haunting Sarah as shocking memories of the past hit home. For they are venturing into the habitat of a new tribe of Crawlers, even more viciously feral than Sarah faced before.

The new film is directed by Jon Harris, who is making his helming debut. It is scheduled to appear in stores on DVD on April 27th.

Still pissed, because the original ending did not allow for a sequel. No offense, but the p*ssy-ass american ending sucks.

Looks like a decent sequel... But then again, it could be just a pale rip-off of the first one.

The original UK ending is pretty good, but making another one based on the US version...that sucks big time!

seen it, it's just a rehash of the first one.
i gotta say it was a dissapointment.
the first one still kicks ass though

Freudian is right. Marshall's intended ending is perfect in my personal opinion and leaves zero room for a sequel. This is just a ploy to make money as is most everything nowadays. It's an insult to one of the most visceral and psychologically effective horror thrillers of at least the past decade if not of all time.

Whats this American ending Bullsh*t? contrary to popular belief that ending was filmed at the same time as the other, cause Gasp it was the original intended ending but dont listen to me just listen to the film makers own words on the commentary. Oh and i have the Unrated Cut so i dont know this American Ending that you speak of.

Why did they do this? The first Descent was horribly overrated.

@Dave-agreed.

pretty sure the dvd rip for this has been out for a while now.
rabid writes:

The first one was really good. It's a very claustrophobic movie. That makes for instant suspense. Good sh*t. I'll be checking this sequel out for sure.

HannibalKing is right, I just found it online.

I agree with the first post. It was the main reason why I didn't see the first movie.

@trailertrash- I've seen Dog Soldiers, one of the best werewolf movies around, tried to watch the first one of this but could'nt make it past the opening 10mins, and yes he is a good drector.

@encoreyourface-thank you

@dave, Fair play on the descent.....
DaveThePhotoGuy writes:
on March 14th, 2010 at 9:50:59 PM

@trailer- I think it was the fact that it had the same tone of script as "Dog Soldiers" (which was'nt a bad thing) but with women saying it all instead of men.
trailertrash writes:
on March 15th, 2010 at 3:45:32 AM

@ Dave, Good point it did have the same feel about it, just didn't have a great line like "i hope i give you the sh*t's" (before he gets eaten) classic lol
DaveThePhotoGuy writes:
on March 15th, 2010 at 4:06:11 AM

@trailer- yep great line, if that was in Descent I probably would've walked out haha.
Just not the same if woman says it.

Just watched the sequel. It isn't all bad, but it lost many of the things that were great with the first one. Too bad the trailer give away the ending.
