Stallone to Star in Tarantino filmPosted: December 11th, 2006 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

It is reported that Sylvester Stallone has signed on to play a role in the next Quentin Tarantino film, "Inglorious Bastards." The story revolves around a band of US soldiers facing death by firing squad for their misdeeds. They are given a chance to save themselves, by heading into the perilous no-man's lands of Nazi-occupied France on a suicide mission for the Allies. Tarantino says the film is "not your normal hero types that are thrown into a big deal in World War II."
Stallone declined to appear in Tarantino's current flick, "Grindhouse," due to his "Rocky Balboa" and "Rambo" schedule. But now Stallone will get a chance to join the "Inglorious Bastards" cast, rumored to be comprised of Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Adam Sandler and Eddie Murphy. Quick Note: This film was once supposed to star Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenneger and Bruce Willis, the three big action stars of their time.
I'm not completely convinced that Stallone will appear in this film, due to his answers on the Ain't It Cool News website, where he first states... "I would love to work with Quentin Tarantino and had heard rumors about this World War II epic. I would be insane not to work with such a brilliant filmmaker." Later on, in this in depth Q&A, Stallone mentions that he is more interested in writing, rather than acting.
The Weinstein Company has currently scheduled "Inglorious Bastards" to have hit theaters sometime in 2008.
