Clint Eastwood to Direct J. Edgar Hoover Biopic

Clint Eastwood to Direct J. Edgar Hoover BiopicSubmit Comment
We recently reported that Ron Howard's production company was developing a biopic of controversial FBI Director J Edgar Hoover, who founded the organization in 1935 and remained director until his death in 1972.

THR has now learned that Clint Eastwood is in negotiations to make it his next directing project. Dustin Lance Black, who wrote biopic "Milk," penned the script.

Hoover made the FBI what it is today an efficient crime-fighting organization in part by harassing dissenters and building secret files on politicians. He is most often associated with his role in fighting the gangster wars in the '30s and, later, the Mafia.

I think he'll do a great job with this. If you don't trust me, I got two words for you: Gran Torino.

And if you won't accept that then I got another two words for you: suck it!

Are they going to re-imagine Hoover? Al Capone can be the reincarnation of Satan and Hoover must fight him in Holy Mary's dress.

Lol nightmare

and they can add that when they waterboarded suspects it was holy water to see if they were demons or not

correct me if im wrong but... if J. Edgar Hoover and the Bureau of Investigation took down public enemy number 1 John Dillinger in 1934 and was made head d*ck in 1924.. how the f*ck did he begin the FBI organization in 1935?
Freudian_Nightmare writes:

@Dillinger: It wasn't called FBI at that moment (don't know the name). Hoover wanted an agency that could work over all states for a while, and then John Dillinger-affair helped to seal the deal and Hoover got his FBI. I think...

yeah if I'm not mistaken it was just the Bureau of Investigation right? they weren't exactly federal yet.. so by getting JD they got the public's attention but it took years for them to even be called the FBI... until like the 60's i think

@VDOD - oh Bro... don't make it that easy for me.
Ranger writes:

@VDOD - does he not look like a young Johnny Mathis or what?!

Or a young, black Johnny Cash?

And I don't think Hoover was the saint he's being portrayed thus far (maybe that truth is the reason two heavyweights: Eastwood and Opie are vying for the movie rights). He overstepped his (as yet) undefined boundaries (although, if as yet undefined... etc?).

Hoover was no way near a saint. More like a paranoid, psychotic douche. In other words: he is the epitome of a good boss.

@johnny-loved Gran Torino, not what i was expecting but it was still great.

boring... The guy was a total douchebag who did everything from behind a desk. Where's the story?
