Kathryn Bigelow Turned Down "Spider-Man" Reboot

Kathryn Bigelow Turned Down "Spider-Man" RebootSubmit Comment
LA Times put together an article that looks into what Sunday's Oscar-winners are planning to do next. Jeff Brides is filming "True Grit" with the Coen brothers, Christoph Waltz is wrapping up "Green Hornet", and Mo'Nique has nothing currently set up.

When the article got to Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), who became the first woman to win an Oscar for Best Director, it is briefly mentioned that she has been cautious about signing on for a new film.

She has been turning down jobs on big-budget movies, including an offer to direct the "Spider-Man" reboot, which eventually went to "(500) Days of Summer" helmer Marc Webb. This comes as no surprise since Bigelow is known for her testosterone-filled films like "Point Break" and "K-19: The Widowmaker."

She'll likely concentrate on a passion project called "Triple Frontier" for Paramount that she signed up to do long before "The Hurt Locker" became a hit. "Frontier" is an action-adventure story set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil.

I'd f*ck her in front of Cameron's dumb ass. Good she turned it down. Now, get Renner's ass back and do Captain America, honey.

Loved The Hurt Locker. She is a great director no doubt about it.

This is the kind of talent Hollywood needs desperately.

God for Kathryn. :)

By the way, I love this woman...

She seems to be a f*cking genius, first Hurt Locker, then turning down the sh*t-pile emo Spidey flick

Where have you guys been? Bigelow has been making good decisions her entire career. sh*t, even marrying Cameron opened huge door for her ass. She didn't want what Cameron would call "sloppy seconds" with the Spidey reboot. After all these years in Hwood she can probably smell a stinker from miles away. The woman's got balls and brains (which is pretty hot in itself), but stop acting like she just developed them with Hurt Locker (which isn't even her best film).

'...even marrying Cameron opened huge door for her ass...' --- and her *sshole I guessing.

The Hurt Locker made 13 million total box office...wouldn't call that a hit Alex.

I heard she hardly boned James Cameron, always giving him blue balls. That's how he got his inspiration for avatar

The Hurt Locker is one of the best films to win Best Picture in the last ten, maybe even twenty years. I'm stoked for whatever she does next.

@Osiris3eagle

Your comment is completely and utterly f*cking retarded. You're right. The Hurt Locker isn't a hit at all. It only won SEVENTY TWO awards, including six oscars, and another 46 nominations.

You're right. That wasn't a hit at all. Just remember, money doesn't mean "hit". Moron.

And yes, Ranger, you are right. I'd f*ck her completely stupid.
Ranger writes:

Good.

You take one end... I'll take the other.
darkraven28 writes:

Damn she's hot. And she's an Oscar winner. And she makes great action movies. And she looks pretty good for being in her 50s. She's the whole package IMHO.
Ranger writes:

rabid writes:

Hurt Locker just hit dvd sales, which is the true measure of a film's value. I bet with all the Oscar buzz, it far outsells and outrents what it picked up in a short theatre run.
