Liev Schreiber Talks "Wolverine" SequelSubmit Comment
During a press junket for "Repo Men," Liev Schreiber revealed that Hugh Jackman has already read the script for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" sequel, but is unsure whether Sabretooth will be part of the new film.

"I just had dinner with [Hugh Jackman] last night and Hugh read the first draft of the script and I was really excited about it," said Schreiber. "It's still not clear whether or not Victor will be present in the Japan storyline."

He continued: "In the Japan storyline as I remember it from the Wolverine comics, Victor wasn't there. So I don't know, of course I've got my fingers crossed because I love the character so much, to have the chance to do it again would be a lot of fun, but I'm not sure."

"Wolverine 2" is set to begin filming early next year.

He read the first draft over dinner?

He sure knows how to party.

I like Liev Schreiber. He's a good actor, but his work in Wolverine was not exactly his best. It was kind of a forgettable part IMO.

So he knows the script, but not if he's in it? What kind of script is this?
RickyGabrielBird writes:

@Wallace: Good point.

Did Hugh invite him round to taunt him that he isn't in it?

Liev Schreiber made Sabretooth look like a p*ssy.
I didn't find his performance convincing at all.

I actually found Liev's Sabretooth on of few redeeming parts in Wolverine, so I would gladly see him reprise this role.

What? I thought Wolverine was left at the part Xmen 1 started? f*cking Hollywood leaving storylines closed then reopening them! It's pathetic!

the dudes the man, hopefully he comes back, but yea if he read the script wouldnt it tell him if hes in it or not??
CCBlev writes:

@wallace
great point but it is only a 1st draft, they could do another and write him in there for a a small role if Schrieber cries enough wanting to be in there. If they do that they'll be f*cking up the Japan storyline but then again when hasn't Holltwood f*cked up a godo story?
Kurskij writes:

@Freudian

Amen to that. He was the almost hte only good part of it.

"You don't call... How else could I get your attentinon?..."- priceless delivering

read the passage properly - hugh read the script in his own time and later had dinner with liev but couldnt tell him anything as its a first draft and could be changed to add/remove sabretooth's character
SACdaddy writes:

I agree with FN too. He was the ONLY redeeming thing in Wolverine. Which begs the question, if Liev isn't in this, why are they making it? Wolverine was TERRIBLE!!! Easily one of the biggest disappoints in film history, right up there with Phantom Menace. The X-men are dead to me.
triggax writes:

I wasn't disappointed by the Phantom Menace... Because I hated star wars before it came out... I though they were all garbage therefore couldn't be disappointed by another retarded installment of a retardedly lame franchise for gays and lame ass fan boys...

Liev Schrieber should do more comedies... Did anyone see The Ten? Hilarious....

One of the best things about the first not being in the sequal? Good luck fox...

After Wolverine, I'm going to wait for reviews and or word of mouth because origins was trash past the origin start.
Kurskij writes:

@Johhnny

Sequel will have ninjas. You can't go wrong with f*cking ninjas.

If Fox will manage to do that then... I don't know... they say world will go down if a lame ninja shows up.

I really think Liev Schreiber is a great actor but he will FOREVER been known as Cotton Weary in my eyes.
