"Wolverine 2" Script is Complete, To Shoot in JanuaryPosted: March 4th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Ever since the first "Wolverine" film, Hugh Jackman has been talking about telling the Japanese story in the sequel. THR is now reporting that Christopher McQuarrie (X-Men, Valkyrie) has finished the script.
Based on a story by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont, Wolverine's adventures in martial arts will be a love story featuring a Japanese actress. "It's a beautiful story," said a source. "And will be very different than the first film."
Producer Lauren Shuler Donner previously spoke about the plot, stating: "This movie will really focus on the relationship between Wolverine and Mariko, the daughter of a Japanese crime lord, and what happens to him in Japan. Mariko's father has this stick-like weapon, so Wolverine will have to fight against that. There'll be samurai, ninja, katana blades, different forms of martial arts - mano-a-mano, extreme fighting."
The plan right now is to begin filming in January of 2011 and have the movie in theaters by the Summer of 2012.

You mean this one will be good?

Jackman will be 44 in 2012. This series isn't moving fast enough, it's going to be approaching laughable that these are set before X-MEN 1.

Maybe Wolves claws will actually look real this time. Not sure why they stuck with the "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" metal effects. Christ.

@darth - I know. They were totally different from the X-Men movies... I don't know why the art dept. for Wolverine were allowed that artistic license... when something so prominent on his character would be allowed to be altered.

"a love story featuring a Japanese actress"
- Sideways vaginas. Interesting...
"It's a beautiful story"
- Of course it is, with sideways vaginas, how could it not be?
"This movie will really focus on the relationship between Wolverine and Mariko"
- A lot of sideways vagina f*cking, then.
"Mariko's father has this stick-like weapon"
- COC's father has one of those too. COC knows aaaaaaall about it, first hand (first ass).
"There'll be samurai, ninja, katana blades, different forms of martial arts - mano-a-mano, extreme fighting"
- Hallelujah!

lol... maybe so, if they can't even get his claws right from one movie franchise to the other. A good script would be a start.
COC's mom dying again would be even better.

Is that line not hilarious? The villain in Wolverine 2 has a stickthing. Run for the goddamn hills.

So basically it's Wolverine banging a japanese a fighting against men with sticks? Oh, and a bunch of martial arts.
All of a sudden Wolverine: Origins doesn't seem so bad.

They didn't say anything about a villain... Isn't it supposed to be Lady Deathstrike? If they stay true to the X-Men movies he fought her and didn't know who she was right? Maybe they should leave super-villain's out of it and just have him kill a sh*t ton of Yakuza.

If Fox will find their brains and balls (I guess they keep them in the same place. Most likely in the fridge, judging by the size) and not only find a good director, but let him do what he wants - this may be good.
If not... well lets hope it'll be more about chicks than sticks.

i'll be avoiding this...unless maybe if they made a movie 3 hours long and called it 'x-men: apocalypse'...but yea, that doesn't seem likely in this lifetime
