EuropaCorp Developing 3D Sci-Fi Prison Film "Section 8"Posted: February 15th, 2010 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

Luc Besson's EuropaCorp company is currently in pre-production on a $30 million 3D sci-fi action film called "Section 8" which takes place in a prison orbiting 50 miles above the earth. The prison houses 500 of the world's most dangerous prisoners, who are kept asleep by sophisticated techniques until they suddenly awaken.
"When you read the script, you can easily guess how the live-action and 3D will take this sci-fi thriller to a great level and [director Stephen St. Leger and James Mather] are very, very talented," said Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, EuropaCorp founder and partner.
The project requires extensive visual effects and will require a long pre-production period. But EuropaCorp aims to shoot late spring or early summer.
EuropaCorp is also focusing on "Brick Mansion," the US English-language remake of action-thriller "District 13," which was the directorial debut of Pierre Morel (Taken).

I think a lot of it has to do with how much involvement Luc Besson actually has with the project. The dude made The Professional and The Fifth Element (2 of my fave's) and then said screw you American pigs and hasn't made a non-French film since... to my knowledge. I wonder what we did to offend a french man??
