Tim Robbins Joins "Green Lantern"

Tim Robbins Joins "Green Lantern"Submit Comment
Tim Robbins has joined Warner Bros' "Green Lantern" superhero movie, joining the cast comprised of Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong.

Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the disapproving father of the movie's villain, Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), who becomes infused with psychic powers.

The last time Robbins appeared in a comic book movie, it was back in 1986 for George Lucas' adaptation of Marvel's "Howard the Duck." So this makes Robbins the second cast member to have starred in both a DC Comics and Marvel movies. The other is Reynolds (X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

"Green Lantern" will begin filming in March in New Orleans with director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) at the helm.

"father of the movie's villain" doesn't sound like "star". James Mardsen was Cyclops AND Lois Lane's husband.

Still say RR should not be playing Hal Jordan. He's so wrong for that role. Let him be Kyle.

Telur you have the best possible Wonder Woman movie out there right now grant it its Animated but you honestly think the live action department will do better?

not exactly amazing news, but nothing bad either. still pumped to see this movie.

also when i'm done with Lively she'd be nothing left but a friction burn.

WP you guys can be idiots. Robins isnt the 2nd ever actor to appear in a Marvel and a DC movie. James Marsden was in the X-Men trilogy and Superman Returns, Halle Berry was in the X-Men trilogy and Catwoman (as crap as it was), Michael Murphy was in X-Men 3 and Batman Returns, and Joshua Harto was in Iron Man and The Dark Knight. Get your friggin facts right.

But cool to hear he is in the movie too :)

@ACTIONFIGURE Hell yeah it is. I live 40 minutes from New Orleans and there's been a ton of movies being filmed down here lately: Jonah Hex, The Expendables, that Dylan Dog vampire film, etc. It's really becoming Hollywood South.

Howard the Duck was great. I'd love to see a strictly adult remake of that property, maybe some of the Garth Ennis stories.
