Trailer: Martin ScorseseSubmit Comment
Today we have the teaser trailer for "Boardwalk Empire," an HBO drama pilot that stars Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt, Gretchen Mol and Michael Shannon, and is directed by Martin Scorsese. Check it out below.

The story centers on Nucky Johnson (Buscemi), a cunning businessman who runs a liquor distribution ring at the onset of Prohibition, and Jimmy Darmody (Pitt), a young, highly intelligent and ruthless WWI veteran, a low-level flunky for Nucky who wants to quickly climb the ladder.

"Empire" is written by Terrence Winter ("The Sopranos") and is based on Nelson John's book, which chronicles the 1920s origins of Atlantic City, NJ. It is set to premiere on HBO this fall.

God I love HBO. Its far and beyond the best station on tv. They make it so hard to appreciate any other programming out there. Outside of 24 and LOST there's really nothing else that compares. And don't give me that House MD sh*t. House wouldn't last two weeks on HBO. With Boardwalk Empire and Speilberg's The Pacific HBO has struck gold once again :-)

I want to say I love it, but I wasn't sold by that trailer. Still, I'll give it a chance.

Well said, SAC. As of late, I've found myself immersed in many of their shows (also Showtime). I think I've gotten at least seven seasons of various HBO/Showtime programs on DVD within about the last month. Frankly, it beats cable's primetime lineups by a country mile.

Yeah thats because its not TV, Its HBO..

Gaaaawd i f*cking love HBO.... Gives me a hard on...

This, the pacific, the new season of Big Love started last sunday... Im in f*cking programming heaven...

I can't watch network television, not 24, nor lost... well definitely not Lost...
I have friends that are constantly asking, "Did you watch, how i met your mother, last night?" I say no, im not retarded... they say "yah but what about 2 and a half men?" i say no, im not f*cking retarded, i dont even have cable television for christ sake... cable television programs are for total tard buckets... Wheres the reality in this sh*t? i mean like i said the only show half decent that might even be worth the watch is 24, and we all know that sh*t should have been on HBO anyways, it would be MILES better, there would be some real violence, real problems, tits, ass, bad language... f*ck it would be real...

kinda like "THE WIRE" which is f*cking fantastic.

LOL! All that in one day? I'm in! HBO get on that!!!

Honestly nearly sh*t myself Trig! Lots of friends and coworkers are always asking me about the same shows. 2 and a Half this and How I met that....arrrrh! Dont get me started on f*cking Chuck now either. I watched 10 minutes of that show the other night and wanted to kill myself! Its getting harder and harder to hide my anger with these bubbleheads. Usually I start off by asking them why I would watch a show with a gay guy pimping hoes or watch Charlie Sheen playing himself living with some crybaby p*ssy I hated in the 80s? Then I get a c*cky and tell them if it ain't HBO or Showtime it ain't worth it. Must See TV can kiss my ass :-)

24 and Lost are the only exceptions to the rule.

Btw, The Wire is the sh*t! Wish it was still going.
