Louis Leterrier Wants to Direct "The Avengers"

Louis Leterrier Wants to Direct "The Avengers"Submit Comment
Last time we heard director Louis Leterrier (Incredible Hulk, Clash of the Titans) talks about "The Avengers," he said that he would love to direct it and can see The Hulk as a villain.

MTV News caught up with him to get an update. "I hope they don't find a director before I'm available, because I'd love to take a crack at ['Avengers']," said Leterrier. "It's just an amazing universe, and to have everybody involved..."

He continued: "Jon Favreau would've been the best director to do this thing, but now that he's a producing, I'd love to be able to work with him and continue what I started with 'Hulk' and what he started with 'Iron Man' and we do it together and continue that universe."

Leterrier clearly needs to be involved with "The Avengers" movie, since The Hulk will likely be used in a major way. Apparently in the first 20 minutes of the new film, Loki (from "Thor") brainwashes Bruce Banner to gain control of the Hulk for his own evil deeds. When the green monster goes on a rampage, Thor, Iron Man and Captain America are forced to assemble.

Hmmm.... Well he did good with hulk, which is a tough character to pull off. At least someone stepped up to the plate. Really wanted Jon favreau to do it, but if he feels that he can't , it's all good.

I think that the Avengers should be more than a superhero blockbuster film it should be THE superhero epic of our times,.Something on the scale of LOTR or Ben Hur,that kind of 2-3 hour sunday afternoon monster movie. It ought to be the Epic cherry to top of all the Marvel films we have had over the last decade or so.

"Clash of the Titans" will be proof enough that Louis is a great candidate to direct "The Avengers." If Marvel were smart [insert argument here], they would sign him now, before they can't afford him.

Why not Leterrier as Director & Favereau as co-director, then w ehave 2 epic directors.

kind of like how Del Toro & Jackson are doing Hobbit
