Lots of "Ghost Rider 2" Details RevealedSubmit Comment
Collider had the chance to speak to producer Mike De Luca to get an update on the "Ghost Rider" sequel, which De Luca says could end up being titled "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance."

Nicolas Cage is set to return and 20th Century Fox is planning to use the script that David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) had written over nine years ago. Check out the breakdown of all the other details below.

* Mark Steven Johnson is not directing the sequel

* Eva Mendes will not return as Roxanne Simpson

* Ghost Rider 2 (or Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance) will be a hard PG-13

* The film is going to take place in Europe

* De Luca is open to David Goyer directing the sequel but it all comes down to his very busy schedule

* Says the sequel will be like "pushing the reset button" on the franchise

* As you might expect from the success of Avatar, Ghost Rider 2 might be done in 3D

* Says Goyer has just delivered his updated outline to the studio

* Says Ghost Rider 2 could be in front of the cameras this year

As long as it doesn't suck like the first movie did. Don't get me wrong, it had some good parts but over all...I hated it.

Glad to see that Cage is still making money so that he can pay down his debts.

good some parts, bad others. no PG-13 and no 3-D and i'd be much more exited.

Screw the rider. no wait, that'd hurt. no lips. or ass. sh*t.

20th Century Fox? I thought Sony was was in involved with the project?

Make it MA. Make it gory. Make it gritty. Make sure Rebel Wilson doesn't have a cameo. Then you'll get there.

"Ghost Rider 2 will be a hard PG-13"?
What the deuce..?!
Only so they can milk money out of this..
f*ck you, Hollywood!

This means that here in Sweden it will most likely be allowed from 11-year olds.
7 if you have an adult with you.
I can as well see "Ducktales"..
Oh, uh.. and about the 3D part.. Skip it..

woohoo! a "hard pg-13" movie!! we can expect some serious bruises and maybe even a bleeding nose or two! perhaps Roxeanne's skirt will go as low as her knee!

Didn't really like the 1st film, not really a fan of Cage either.
jdl107 writes:

So, it'a a sequel, but a reboot? A reboot, but not a reboot?

Man if that isn't the most half-assed idea of this year so far.
ACTIONFIGURE writes:

There's such thing as "Hard PG-13"?
bale01289 writes:

@actionfigure you took the words right out of my mouth! And how is it that Nic Cage is in a sh*t ton of movies and still having money problems?!? Just off top of my head, he's gonna be in GR3, Kick-Ass, Sorcerers Apprentice, Season of the Witch. Lay off the blow, Nic!

David Goyer's involvement is the only thing that get's me semi-excited (hehe..semi). Speaking of semi...what's with the "hard PG-13"? Is that like when you just stick the tip in during sex?
Peter Parker writes:

* Mark Steven Johnson is not directing the sequel

- Wow, after such hits as "Daredevil", "Elektra" and "sh*t Rider, one would think the studios would give him more credit, uh?

* Eva Mendes will not return as Roxanne Simpson

- Good. The only thing Eva Mendes should be on is porn. She should also be on my lap.

* Ghost Rider 2 (or Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance) will be a hard PG-13

- A hard 13... Dherpes should like this concept.

* The film is going to take place in Europe

- Crossing my fingers to see some bondage, S&M and some incest, then.

* De Luca is open to David Goyer directing the sequel but it all comes down to his very busy schedule

- De Luca is open to David Goyer. Period.

* Says the sequel will be like "pushing the reset button" on the franchise

- Push the "Apologize" button first. Then hit "Reset".

* As you might expect from the success of Avatar, Ghost Rider 2 might be done in 3D

- "Blue Rider", then.

* Says Goyer has just delivered his updated outline to the studio

- Yeah. The outline says something like: "I need money to buy Cameron's technology."

* Says Ghost Rider 2 could be in front of the cameras this year

- After reading this one, Eliza Dushku started learning how to ride a Harley Davidson.

Nemonian writes:

@ Peter Parker: I believe that's the title of the first one.
Peter Parker writes:
on January 8th, 2010 at 10:53:54 AM

@ Nemonian:

Come to think of it, you may be right!

From the looks of it, the second will be called something like:

"Holly f*ck, That's a Bad Movie In 3D!"

Meh, I wanna know about the real details of the movie, like what kind of stupidly retarded haircut they're doing on Nicolas Cage's head.
gotsghostrider writes:

a hard PG13 movie is like hmmm well i guess a few examples would be Alien vs. Predator, and everyJ-Horror american remake thank you come again!
gotsghostrider writes:
on January 8th, 2010 at 1:16:58 PM

dont trash the movie yet: DAvid Goyer is writing it with a hard PG13 ithink there will be a moderate amount of gore jsut enough to just barely make it PG13. also david goyer may also direct so thereis hope. i hope Vengeance or Lilith is in it
coldplayesence writes:

^ Lilith from Supernatural? That kid was HOT!

Ghost Rider 2 being made= not going to see it, maybe on DVD....Eva Mendes not coming back= definitely not seeing it, no chance on DVD

ok this film has flopped aready since Goyer might be directing, i'll say Goyer is a awesome writer but he fails hard at directing
J.A.Ottley writes:
on January 10th, 2010 at 4:01:21 PM

and for the people confused on what a HARD PG-13 actually is.....Here is an example

THE DARK KNIGHT.
Basically it just is kind of R-Rated, but it still stays in the rules, legislations and borderpoints of a PG-13 movie and R-Rated film which i doubt that will happen with Ghost Rider
gotsghostrider writes:
on January 11th, 2010 at 6:52:25 AM

I meant Lilith from the Ghost Rider series shes the stripper queen of all demons
gotsghostrider writes:
on January 11th, 2010 at 6:59:35 AM

and Ottley. thts a good defination of a hard PG-13 lets just hope they have a good cast tht can act well Peter Fonda will be returning so thats one actor....maybe have a female lead thats good for cleavage shots AND that can act?
