Sandra Bullock is the First Actress to Break $200 MillionSubmit Comment
Sandra Bullock made history over the weekend, after her new film "The Blind Side" broke the $200 million mark at the domestic box office, making Bullock the only top female star to reach that point.

Among the likes of Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon and Bullock, it's hard to believe that none of the films in which they had solo top billing hadn't reached $200 million. But indeed, none had.

Roberts' "Erin Brockovich" grossed $125.6 million domestically. Streep's "The Devil Wears Prada" grossed $124.7 million. Usually, female-driven films do much better overseas. Streep's "Mamma Mia!" grossed $144.1 million at home and $465.7 million internationally. Even "Sex and the City" only took in $152 million domestically.

anyone remember her in that American remake of The Vanishing?? god, i kinda envied Jeff Bridges for throwing her in his car and kidnapping her... even though he creeped me the f*ck out.

Looks like she's murder, death, killed her competition. Jesse's gonna have to give her the celebratory bum sex now fo sho!

As for Sex and the City. The only reason I'd place my hands on that DVD would be to remove the booklet from the case to wipe my ass.

And people wonder why women get paid less in Hwood. One $200mill grosser in all these years of film making.... please.

Good for Sandra and good for The Blindside. That kid's story is truly amazing, and it keeps getting better considering he just got his team to the NFL playoffs in his first season with the Ravens. What a year for he and Bullock!

why are people on here acting like Sandra Bullock is a bad actress? She definitely earned this and I'm glad to see her get it over Julia 'big lips' Roberts, Meryl 'In Every f*cking movie' Streep, and the Sex in the City hookers.

So I guess Sandra's agent can now ask studios to pay their client $25 million per movie? I think that beats the Julia Roberts record of getting $20 million per movie.

And expect to see more chick flicks in theaters because of this. Oh the things you guys will have to see just to get your girlfriend to swallow.

Sandra Bullock is not the only one.
Don't forget Nia Vardalos who wrote and played in " My big fat Greek Weeding"... The hit sleeper of 2003 who made 241 Millions $.

Rostom...you have a good point. Wonder why WP didn't pick up on this.

Wow, good for her, it is a great movie.

Bullock will turn 46 this year and she is getting hotter.

She must have sucked a massive amount of d*ck for that to happen.

It's a football movie that got tons of free pub by the NFL. Not to mention a good story. It had nothing to do with this big nose hag.

@rostom - was the $241mil. - Greek Wedding made all from domestic ticket sales? If not... that may be why it didn't make this list.
Freudian_Nightmare writes:

241 millions is the domestic gross, 380 international. I think the reason they don't mention it, is cause Nia didn't have a solo top billing, she did instead share with Joey Fatone (among others).

How about My Big Fat Greek Wedding?

I guess Nia Vardalos isn't a top female star... but that movie could have made her one.
