Lionsgate has release a clip from the upcoming Jackie Chan film "The Spy Next Door." It shows Chan fighting some bad guys, while keeping a little girl safe. For some reason, a cat watches all the ridiculous action. Check it out below.

Plot: The story centers on a man (Chan) who is called to babysit his neighbor's children and winds up having to fight off secret agents after one of the kids inadvertently downloads a secret code.

The new film is directed by Brian Levant, the man behind "Beethoven," "The Flintstones" and "Jingle All the Way." It is scheduled to hit theaters on January 15th, 2010.

And I used to like Jackie Chan...

This is badass for a kids movie. I wish I had this quality of fight choreography in "kiddy" action movies I watched as a kid.

Sure, I'd rather see Chan doing some ridiculous stunts, and hardcore fights, but knowing that he only does these movies to portray a positive message, and not for money, kind of gives me an appreciation for them.

I will not be seeing this movie. Chan is starting to lose his touch, I mean this and then The Karate Kid (hmmmmm wondering if he is moving into Michael Jackson territory, he sure does like working with kids lately)

WTF?!?!?!

There used to be good family movies,

willow

back to the future 1, 2 and 3

home alone 1 and 2

Beetlejuice

A Christmas Story

Ghostbusters

etc.

@victor - I agree, but when I watch those movies again, there are plenty of parts, especially in home alone, that would be taken the wrong way if they were released nowadays. That's what happens when the world's mind is in the gutter, and that's why they'll never make kid's movies the way they used to.

and @jeff - He's not losing his touch, he's just expanding his acting horizons, at the age of 55, and sh*t like this is all Hollywood wants to give him.

Watch 'Shinjuku Incident'. It came out last year, and is a drama. He pulls off dramatic acting for the first time ever and it's awesome. Also, he's got some martial arts projects in the works that look real promising. Of course, they're all Hong Kong releases.

He's also on this big anti-violence kick, even to the point of downing Legend of Drunken Master, which is one of the greatest martial arts movies of all time.

That's why he's doing this and Kung Fu kid. The violence the 'hero' partakes in is for defense purposes only.

People need to ease up. He's mother f*cking Jackie Chan. He knows what he's doing, and he can do what he wants.

Same old schtick, sure, but this one's for the kiddies so it doesn't really count.
