Kirsten Dunst to Not Return for "Spider-Man 5"?

Kirsten Dunst to Not Return for "Spider-Man 5"?Submit Comment
Kirsten Dunst starred in the first three "Spider-Man" movies as Mary-Jane, Peter Parker's love interest. And while she is set to appear in the fourth installment, sources close to the production are saying that the actress will be written out and not return for any more "Spider-Man" films.

"The plan is for her character to be written out, probably by dying," a source told Star magazine. "Anne [Hathaway] will take over as Peter Parker's new love interest for this project and for Spider-Man 5 and 6 which are being written now. Anne is in LA doing a lot of meetings on the movie, because filming is right around the corner."

The rumor floating around the internet is that Hathaway will play The Black Cat. The character is a skilled (somewhat reformed) cat burglar who is currently an occasional crime fighter and adventurer. She first donned the Black Cat costume in order to break her father out of prison. On the same night, she met Spider-Man, later becoming obsessed with him and even becoming the girlfriend of Peter Parker.

I'm against the idea for the Black Cat.

Why Hattaway?, there are way hotter actresses in Hollywood

Now this is a great xmas present, if only Dunst could die in real life as well, then i'd truly beleive in miracles

more fake news.
Dunst already confirmed she's in the film. and Hathaway already confirmed that she is not.

Goddamnit....spider man has to have mary jane....don't kill her off and write her out. that is bullsh*t...if they wanted to do that they should have made gwen stacy the love interest in the beginnng. You can't have spiderman without MJ

Another awful decision made. Here's what they need to do. Take the ideas, everyone affiliated with the film, all the money that is going to be spent on the film.....and burn it. Spiderman is awesome, and you all are slowly killing him.

Why? It's not as if Kiki has been in a boat load of movies since SM3. Just get another actress to play MJ.

And why are they even thinking about making movies 5 & 6?

No more Dunst = good
Black Cat = bad

I couldn't agree with CD_Smith and Horror junkie more. I really wish the would have recast Parker and MJ after the first. When spidey starts to get older then high school he stops looking like a nerdy twat. Tobey still looks this way...

All the recent spiderman news posted on here has been bogus. What up with that?

Dunst confirmed she was returning back in the summer. The producer confirmed that as well. Hathaway's agent made a statement in November denying her role.

i liked Dunst in the beginning, the first film as marry jane. but idk the last two has just felt off, i agree they need to get her out of there but i dont think they should bring in the Black Cat. now that would just be dumb.

I guess that means that Peter Parker is going to stop slumming it with that hit faced, snaggle toothed Mary-Jane. Nice

f*ck MJ - atleast this semi-retarded, bitchy, whining, busted ass movie version of the character that, for some unexplained reason, is always playing the f*cking "Damsel in distress" in these movies. Just start a new series of films - don't call it a f*cking reboot - and get some broad that actually looks like Todd McFarlane's interpretation - make her a model, and have her walk around in skimpy underwear all the time like Todd did - and everything will be right with the world.

Who cares? Just like every other series they are going to keep making them until they turn into sh*t movies. Which then makes the first ones (the good ones) just look bad.

i like kristin, even thou mj got retarded after part 2, they need to bring gwen back, if they kill off anyone it should be gwen.

I have no prob whatsoever about removing the Mary-Jane character from the movies. She was annoying in the movies and annoying in the books. Black Cat would be a breath of fresh air for this series. Too bad we have to wait until 5 to get rid of her. Shoulda had Venom eat her last time...

That's pretty dumb why would they tell you first of all and why won't they just replace her with elisha cuthbert? Mary jane is a part of this story as peter parker i hope this is just a rumor!
