Sinbad Owes $8 Million in Taxes

Posted: December 23rd, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Sinbad Owes $8 Million in TaxesSubmit Comment
While Nicolas Cage owes around $6 million in taxes to the IRS, at least the man is getting acting jobs. It could be worse, like if you're actor/comedian Sinbad (Jingle All the Way).

The performer, whose real name is David Adkins, owes a whopping $8.15 million in delinquent federal taxes and has now declared bankruptcy. Apparently he filed tax returns between 1998 and 2006, but failed to pay the taxes he reported.

As a result, Attorney General's Office filed a lawsuit in a federal district court to foreclose on his $1.5 million home in Hidden Hills, California, to pay off the federal tax liens. Sinbad filed bankruptcy the very next day after the lawsuit was filed.

Hmmm...

If Sinbad could rub that lamp and get 3 wishes... I wonder what they would be?

He still has a career?
minkowski writes:

I remember the day Ed McMahahon brought this fool onto StarSearch. And I knew his career would have as much life as the career of that gay guy from American Idol.

Speaking of Ed McMahon...

Who else has $ troubles lately?

I'm not making fun of them (because God knows by the time you owe $8+ mil. to Uncle Sam you have already made 2 to 3x's that minimum (if you have a good accountant).

Sinbad,
Wesley Snipes,
Nickolas Cage,
Ed McMahon (of course he took the easy way out!).
Courtney Love,

Who else?
minkowski writes:

I think Snipes, Sinbad and Cage used the same accountant that cleaned out Rocky in Rocky 5. You know the one, the guy Paulie hired.
Ranger writes:

lol.

Eh, yo, eh!
HorrorJunky4Life writes:

Sinbad waited a little late to file bankruptcy. They made it much harder to get approval and you still have to agree to pay a percentage of the bill. And something tells me he hasn't been getting much in the way of acting work. Hopefully this guy has investments to fall back on.
Ranger writes:

Guess we'll see all these actor's in a Chain Gang sequel (for real).

"They made it much harder to get approval and you still have to agree to pay a percentage of the bill."

Thanks to Republican bankruptcy law, I might add.
minkowski writes:

I guess without his money, it's a Different World for him now.
Ranger writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 1:31:53 AM

He probably thought that if he bought his house in 'Hidden Hills' the IRS would never find him.

Dumb sh*t!
rabid writes:

It's kind of sad. Sinbad was really funny back in the day.
Ranger writes:

He was around during the Civil War?!?!
HorrorJunky4Life writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 1:40:12 AM

If he gets approved for bankruptcy, he will still owe something in the neighborhood of 2 million. And I think he will spend the rest of his life trying to pay that off and failing.

Can the IRS go after the next of kin for the payment?
minkowski writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 1:42:38 AM

No.
minkowski writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 1:43:27 AM

The IRS may be cruel, but they're hardly a d*ckensian debtors prison.
HorrorJunky4Life writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 1:51:16 AM

Then he should have put everything in the wife's name and then spent it all before the IRS came aknocking.

Ranger writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 1:54:42 AM

Can't do that. There's a limit on spousal gifts to avoid such a thing.

His money is his money in the eyes of the IRS. But should his bitch decide to divorce him... she gets half.

Yeah... men get the short shaft again (I'll bet that perked up dandy's ears!).
HorrorJunky4Life writes:

Ranger: So it looks like the IRS smartend up a bit and closed some of the loop holes.

Now if only they would over tax air wasters like Paris Hilton and Kim K.
Ranger writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 2:06:35 AM

Embarrassingly so.... Paris is a HUGE industry employing dozens (if not hundreds) of people. She's made a quarter of a BIL, using only her family name, no talent and her vag.

Kim K... too gets people employed.

God Bless America.

(but I do understand your point).
minkowski writes:

The marriage gift limit has been there a while I think.
Ranger writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 2:09:05 AM

Yep. They even talked about it in Shawshank.
minkowski writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 2:09:35 AM

It was used to great effect in the Shawshank Redemption when the evil guard was bitching abut the money he won from a dead relative or something. Dufresne asked him if he trusted his wife, which precipitated the guard to hold Andy over the edge of the machine shop.

Andy then told the guard that he could give the money to his wife as a one time gift, and the IRS couldn't touch it.

That moment surely saved Andy's life, but it won't save Sinbad's ass.

Johnny Depp needs to pay Sinbad's bill of like he did for Nic Cage
Ranger writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 2:25:06 AM

Unlikely.

Dandy told me Sinbad doesn't swallow or do anal.
RickyGabrielBird writes:

SACdaddy writes:

...This shows that once you get the money is hard to let it go (for some people)!! is so easy to pay your taxes every year and stop being greedy!!i wonder what sinbad is doing "bad" or does he even has a career anymore??
Carpen7er writes:

F*uck Sinbad !
rabid writes:

also making the list were OJ Simpson and Dionne Warwick. I think the common thread is that 3 people with no discernable careers are trying to live life like it's still 1990.
Snarebeast writes:

The only reason he owes any of that money is because he used it to be his son a Turbo Man.

I guess he's sorry for being a good father, Mr. Government. It'll never happen again. *ssholes.
Snarebeast writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 2:35:27 PM

*buy. He wanted to buy his son a Turbo Man.

He can't be Turbo Man. Arnold Schwarzeneggar was the one who was Turbo Man. Why do I know all this about Jingle All the Way? I didn't even like that movie when I was 9 years old.
wonderBOY writes:
on December 23rd, 2009 at 5:06:11 PM

how did he even make that much money he isnt a good comedian or actor and his movies dont look like he makes a lot of money
rabid writes:

Sinbad was once very funny and his humor was relevant. He got plenty of acting gigs, was on nearly every black-cast tv show, had his own clothing line, hosted awards shows, did voice acting... Check him out on imdb. The man was a workaholic, no job too small.
