"Saved By the Bell" to Become a Movie?Submit Comment
Pajiba has learned that producer Jonathan Shestack (Disturbing Behavior, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) has secured the rights to the 1989 show "Saved by the Bell" in order to turn it into a feature film.

The site says that the story will based on the long-running series, but will have an all new cast, similar to the "Miami Vice" movie. The original stars (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Thiessen) will all likely to get cameos.

At this point, Shestack has put producer Jeremy Stein (The Photographer) and Ginny Brewer (Dan in Real Life) on the project, which is currently out to writers.

"Saved By the Bell" ran for four season until becoming "Saved by the Bell: The College Years" for two seasons and "Saved by the Bell: The New Class" for seven more. The show also had two TV movies: "Wedding in Las Vegas" and "Hawaiian Style."

@ SACdaddy, its so sad that I know this, but the big uber-deuche in the corner is Max (owner and waiter at "TheMax"). Lol, and I think the line went more like "I'm so excited...I'm so excited...I'm so...so...SCARED!" HAHAHA, this movie is the worst idea EVER!

Mr belding lives in Vancouver now and does stand up. He weighs about 400 pounds and looks disgusting, I doubt he's in the movie.

Dustin Diamond who plays Screech had his own film out not long ago.

This summary was taken from the wiki page.

''On November 13, 2006, Diamond's sex tape Screeched, aka Saved by the Smell, was released by Red Light District.''

Sounds like a terrible idea, but at least they'll have a fresh cast. So not the absolute worst idea to come out. Save that for Predators.
