Matt Damon Won't Return for "Bourne 4" Without Paul Greengrass

Posted: December 4th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Matt Damon WonSubmit Comment
Director Paul Greengrass recently confirmed that he will not return to helm the fourth Jason Bourne movie. Since Matt Damon has worked with Greengrass on many projects, including the last two Bourne installments, it was assumed that the actor would be loyal to his friend and not return either.

Now, during a press junket for Clint Eastwood's "Invictus," Damon confirmed his loyalty when asked if he would consider returning to the franchise without Greengrass. "When [Greengrass] wants to do one, we'll do it," he said.

When a reported asked if this means that he'll only come back if Greengrass does, Damon replied: "Yeah, I've always said that, but I think it'll happen down the road. We just don't have a script yet."

Sounds like either Damon hasn't heard of Greengrass' exit, or he believes that the next installment could still happen. Either way, if Universal Pictures wants to make the fourth movie with Damon, they will need to figure out a way to bring back Greengrass.

Good for Damon. Loyalty (and wanting the work to turn out decent) is as rare as flying reindeer droppings (had to make a Holiday Season reference sooner or later) in Hollywood!

Happy Holidays everyone (except you dandy, you creepy f*ck!).

Every day is a happy holiday for Dandy. In one way or another, he's got a lollipop up his ass.

Good. If a fourth is done, do it in ten years time. Have him rest an live his life as David Webb. So when he snaps back into Jason Bourne, he might make some mistakes as opposed to being a perfect machine. I reckon that'd be more interesting.

^yea have him mess up really throughout the movie but is only exposed at the end and that is how he dies, or atleast he dies with a bang and make it dramatic with him thinking of his girlfriend(kinda like the ending to gladiator)

LOYALTY is what keeps these actors being a part of big films.

Yeah the Bourne movies were always pleasing. Wouldn't see it if Greengrass didn't come back. Those movie were done a specific good way and thats the way it should stay. On another hand, im excited to see Invictus. Looks like Clint will throw another solid one at us.
