"Up in the Air" Named Best Film of the Year by NBRSubmit Comment
For two years in a row the National Board of Review and the Academy Awards have each selected the same film for Best Picture. This year NBR chose Jason Reitman's "Up in the Air," starring George Clooney, as their top choice. Will the Oscars do the same?

In "Up in the Air," Clooney plays a human resources executive whose only joy in life comes from the prospect of notching his ten millionth frequent-flyer mile, a goal he pursues with zeal as the rest of his life falls apart because he is constantly on the road.

"Air" also nabbed awards for Clooney, supporting actress Anna Kendrick, and Reitman and Sheldon Turner for best adapted screenplay. Check out the full list of winners below, which includes "Up" as best animated feature and Clint Eastwood as best director.

Full List of Winners:

Actor: George Clooney (Up in the Air), Morgan Freeman (Invictus) (tie)

Actress: Carey Mulligan (An Education)

Saw it on Monday, it was fantastic. A little predictable, but very good. And Anna Kendrick definitely deserved that award, and deserves an Oscar nom.

Up In the Sir was awesome, I saw it as well but yesterday. I still think The Hurt Locker might be the best, but Up in the Air is right up there with it. Along with Up and Inglourious Basterds. I still need to see A Serious Man.

Shoot The Messenger, and give Woody the prize for Zombieland instead.

Nice to see young Bowie get a nod. Moon was great--a film full of Rockwell's.
