Back in March, it was revealed that "The Goon" creator Eric Powell was adapting his comic book for the big screen with David Fincher attached as a producer and possibly director.

Since then, it has been pretty quiet, but Powell has just revealed to Comic Book Resources that he has completed the script and is now waiting with CG animation specialists Blur Studios to show Fincher what the script and some early CG tests.

"I just finished writing the script a few months back, and Blur is working on a lot of test stuff," he said. "Fincher is working on a film right now, so we're waiting for him to get some space so we can start showing some of this stuff off. I'm pretty happy with everything so far. We've just got to work to get to the next point. This is a slow, long process."

At this point, there is no studio onboard, but the package not only includes Fincher but also Paul Giamatti and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption) as the voices of the characters.

The comic follows the adventures of a muscle-bound brawler who claims to be the primary enforcer for a feared mobster. The stories have a paranormal and comedic edge to them and concern ghosts, zombies, mad scientists and "skunk apes."

Could be good, but I'm thinking Fincher may be done if he's going the CG route. Sounds like has nothing left to say or do in the land of the real, and that worries me. Seems that all talents, like fires, burn bright and then fade away. Some lower than others for sure.
