30 Minutes of "Avatar" are Still Unfinished

30 Minutes of Avatar are Still UnfinishedSubmit Comment
With less than a month before James Cameron's "Avatar" hits theaters, producer Jon Landau told the Wall Street Journal that at least 30 minutes of the film remain incomplete.

The last-minute fixes include sound mixing and visual effects, which are continuing to drive up costs of the film that will likely end up being the most expensive movie ever made. But Cameron sees the rumored $500 million price tag as a good thing. "It's a benefit to the consumer when studios go crazy and spend a lot of money," he said.

Fox chairman Jim Gianopulos said that even though there is still lots of work remaining, crews are working non-stop and will have the film ready on time. "It's in the hectic last days of post-production typical of any film of this size, but it's on schedule and preparing for its world-wide release," he explained.

And even though there are rumors that "Avatar" will be over three hours long, Bruce Snyder, president of domestic distribution for 20th Century Fox, has confirmed that the actual running-time will be 150 minutes (2 1/2 hours) without credits and 156 minutes with credits.

only 6 minutes on such a special effects driven movie? i find that hard to believe. Thats a little disheartening if there is still a half an hour unfinished, but i'm guessing thats a bit of an exaggeration. Hopefully it doesn't drag on, like alot of 2 and a half hour long movies tend to do.

I hope they get this thing finished. I really can't wait to see this movie. It's just unbelievable that a movie that has been in production for this long still isn't finished.

500 million on this movie and it's STILL not done?

for that money, we could've done something better with it, like burning it.

This movie never gets finished.

James Cameron mysteriously dies at the hand of his Dr.

James is buried next to Michael Jackson.

Avatar comes out in a piece-meal doc*mentary telling of the last days of James Cameron's life.

PS: Lohan is a whore.

Did I f*cking read that right? 156 minutes of credits? You gotta be kidding right? So 2 1/2 hours worth of film...and another 156 minutes worth of credits of which no one is going to sit through to watch a bunch of gibberish scroll up the gigantic screen...Just wow.
Sev writes:

TGDirector it's 6 minutes of credits not 156minutes. The film itself is 150 minutes with an additional 6 minutes of credits.

p.s. This film better make me blow my load over the back of some poor f*cker's head or else I'm gunna be VERY dissapointed along with the studio who's forked out half a billion to make it!!

Although, it's 20th Century Fox, I hope he does drain their money haha!! Bunch o c*ntors!

If you got the time to work on sh*t youre gonna keep working on sh*t. Of course sound mixing is still taking time, that sh*t takes forever, and if anyone didnt think they were still working on visual effects they were an idiot.
