Sylvester Stallone Changes "Rambo 5" StorylinePosted: November 12th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Sylvester Stallone recently revealed that the new "Rambo" movie, called "Rambo V: The Savage Hunt," will be a bit sci-fi and will revolve around a military project that develops super-soldiers (half-human abominations) by bringing out their "savagery." When one of these soldiers escapes, Rambo and a Black Ops squad are called in to save the day.
The film will be based on James Byron Huggins' "Hunter" novel that Stallone acquired ten years ago. But now, it seems that the man/beast idea is being abandoned and possibly even the whole novel.
"I'm letting you know that 'Rambo' has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead," Stallone told StalloneZone.com "RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished."

It's a miracle - the clot in Stallone's brain has broken down. Now, he can go back to writing movies at 50% brain activity again (instead of the usual 25%).
Then again, does it take any brain power to concoct the stories be delivers to the screen? Aw, who gives a fuck. I can get excited for this movie now.

Thank Christ he fucking realized what a piece of shit that idea was. Rambo is grounded (very loosely, mind you) in "reality," and turning the franchise into a cheap parody of itself. Don't get me wrong, since Stallone has the rights to the novel Hunter, he can (as he said) use a former character or a new one to face off against a monster, thank god he came to his senses and figured that Rambo wasn't the right character, the worlds don't go together. Now, this paves the way for a dream sequel of mine, Cobra 2: More Snake for You to Chew on: Cobra Enters Sasquach.

So now we all know he can listen.
But, when it comes to talking, he's pretty much fucked!
Thumbs up for the change of direction in Rambo. Rambo and genetic freaks don't belong in the same screen... except when it's Schwarzenegger!

Glad it is not taking a sci-fi route. As long as there are naked chicks and tons of carnage its ok with me.

Thanks for coming to your senses Stallone! Sly gets a lot of flack but he really is a talented screen writer. I hope he listens to fans and doesn't make another Rocky movie. He's really driving that character in the ground. I mean he could make a very moody script about Rocky being an old, washed up boxer...kind of "Wrestler-esque" if you will...but then that's just turning a great American hero (albeit fictional) into a sad tragedy. I don't know...maybe he could pull it off. I wouldn't watch it though. It'd be like going to see your grandparents stare at walls and piss themselves at the nursing home.

On the flip side of my above post, Rambo is a character that can be explored indefinitely. In my opinion....make as many Rambo movies as you want.
