The DVD cover and release date has been announced for the horror film "Saw III." Lions Gate Films is in a big hurry to release the DVD, in time to release the fourth installment of the film on Halloween of next year, to continue the money making machine going.
Fangoria announced a release date of January 23rd for the DVD. There will be an unrated widescreen, unrated fullscreen, rated fullscreen, and Blu-ray disc all out on the same day. Obviously the unrated versions will have extra-grisly footage that was not shown in the theaters.
Some of the extras in the unrated editions are set to include a commentary by director Darren Lynn Bousman and writer Leigh Whannell, commentary by Bousman and editor Kevin Greutert, commentary by the producers, deleted scenes, and much more.
You can still catch "Saw III" in theaters, having dropped off the top 10 box office list this weekend, being released over a month ago. The film started out with a $33.6 million opening weekend, and currently has grossed over $120 million worldwide, all on a $10 million budget.
