Dolph Lundgren in Talks for "Conan"

Dolph Lundgren in Talks for "Conan"Submit Comment
Director Marcus Nispel has already sent out the casting call for his upcoming "Conan" film, the franchise that made Arnold Schwarzenegger a star. And while we wait to find out who Nispel will end up casting as the lead, Dolph Lundgren is already in-talks for a supporting role.

Talks between Lundgren and the "Conan" people started during the making of Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables," since the two projects share the same producers.

"I've talked to the producers about doing something for 'Conan,'" Lundgren told MTV News, adding that "it's too early" to talk about the details. He is expecting to find out more next year.

Taking a look at the casting call, Lundgren might be a good fit for the Khalar Singh part, described in the movie's casting call as "commanding in size and manner, a warlord and formidable warrior, brilliant, cruel, weathered and tanned by the many campaigns he has waged and won." Other parts in the casting call include Conan's father, Corin, and a mercenary named Lucius.

Actually it was The Terminator that made Arnie a star. Conan just made people ask: 'Who is that big f*cker?!'

Ahhh... NO. The article states (first paragraph) Dolph would be up for a 'supporting role'... but, thx. for playing and not paying (ATTENTION!!!).

Just yankin yer chain Bud!

@ Ranger

I would think though that during The Terminator, a large majority of people would've said "Isn't that robot played guy the same guy who played that badass mo'fo Conan?"

I think what i am trying to say is that Conan made Arnie a star, Terminator made him a cultural icon.

For a moment there, Gary Coleman feared they were passing on him for the Conan role!

@ Ranger u a trip. Did anybody notice that one of the requirements for the part was that he be well tanned. They could've got George Hamilton

But bigger. I'm thinking Rosie O'Donnell (after a severe beating)!

I got to say, no matter how bad it could turn out, I would kill to see Dolph as a villain in a big budget Hollywood movie. I'm thinking he could be an awesome bad guy in the Clancy Brown mold. I get that he isn't a master thespian, but, come on, Dolph in a potential blockbuster! Nostalgia is getting the best of me, sorry...

anyone who is 14ft tall and 550 lbs should be making movies where he swings a mace and knocks chunks out of peoples torsos

this movie feels "razzie award" for the cast!

@TeemSelami - then they should do it to scale thus saving a fortune on the budget.

Gary Coleman beating up Lego People.

The whole movie would cost only $500. to make (and that would include Craft Services)!

Why remake such an original. WHY WHY WHY. Its like they want to anally rape and piss all over the stories of an overly buff guy who kills things. I MEAN sh*t. THE Original was pretty good, hell James Earl Jones was the bad guy. f*ckING DARTH VADAR VOICE WAS THE BAD GUY. YOU cant beat that. even with an inflatable doll.

I don't think there's enough room in Hollywood for THAT much steroids...

They are going to get someone who is jacked on roids and can't act. Some one like Brock Lesner with a spray on tan.

It'd be cool to see Dolph Lundgren as a villain again. He was pretty formidable in "Rocky IV" and "Universal Soldier".
