First Look: "30 Days of Night" SequelPosted: November 7th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Today we have the first official still from the upcoming "30 Days of Night" sequel, entitled "30 Days of Night: Dark Days." The photo is of Kiele Sanchez as Stella Oleson, the character played by Melissa George in the original. Check it out below.
Plot: It's been a year since the Alaskan town of Barrow's population was decimated by vampires during its annual month long sunset. Riddled with grief over the death of her husband, bound by nightmares, and void of all emotions beyond hate and sorrow, Stella (Sanchez) has spent the past months traveling the world, trying to convince others that vampires exist.
Met with skepticism and laughter, Stella is ready to throw in the towel when a group of lost souls (Rhys Coiro, Diora Baird, Harold Perrineau) offer an incredible opportunity: the chance to exact revenge upon Lilith (Mia Kirshner), the vampire queen responsible for the assault on her sleepy Alaskan town.
With nothing remaining to live for, and nothing left to fear, Stella joins their mission and ventures into the uncharted underbelly of Los Angeles, where she pushes herself to the most extreme limits to stop the evil from striking again.

Also got a bad feeling they will try and make the vamprie look more human, have them speak and shit. Keep it like it was the the first one, no human emotiosn at all int eh vamprie just walking demons, letting their instincts run free!!

First film was brutal, I'm not even associating this to 30DON, worst synopsis ever.

How do vampires travel to different countries without getting caught in the sun? Submarines? Cargo ships?

This will most likely fail. It sounds way too similar to Queen of the Damned for my taste. I dunno though; maybe they just might pull it off. I enjoyed the first one.

This better be straight to DVD. If Melissa George wouldn't even come back to do it, it has to be bad.

Is this straight to dvd. Sounds like it. This is the dumbest plot since Blade Trinity. Why even give it the same name if they're moving it to LA. Should be called 30 Days of Smog.

I do not want to see Eben and Stella on screen. I already watched some of the crap on Fear.net.
They need to stick to the more unusual books from the series... like Dead Space, Bloodsucker Tales, and Red Snow.

You guys do realize these movies are based off of comic books?

I am sick of vampire adaptations, bring on "The Walking Dead"! I am on the third trade and that is some fucked up shit!!! I heard they are trying to make it a TV series.

Totally with you on that, acslaterson.
I finished volume 10 about a month or two ago. Extremely crazy shit. i'm anticipating walking dead so much. it has so much potential if made right.

I mean, seriously, do you guys ever fucking read anything but vampire and zombie shit? Your brains must be made out of retreaded rubber to read that much monotonous bullshit.
Fuck, go read a science book or something.
Oh, and to hell with this movie. I'm sick to death of vampires. They weren't cool the first 600 films, they aren't cool the second 600. Do something new. Or even better, do something good.

Not for nothing, but being angry that this movie retains the '30 Days of Night' title is like being mad at the Jurassic Park sequel, which wasn't at Jurassic Park or Halloween 2 because much of it happened on November 1st. In other news, it's probably still gonna blow.

could have called thefilm Dark Days..changed a few minor details ad the characters name. and you have an entirely new film.. and retain artistic merrit, rather than jumping on the vampire bandwagon by sequelizing a shitty film.

My issue with the first one is that it's not scary at all. The whole movie's appeal hinges on the fact that there is 30 days of darkness...but after that novelty wears off (pretty much after I saw the first teaser trailer) then it's just a bunch of over-exposed vampires with no story what-so-ever. Blade 1 and 2 are the only vampire movies in the last decade that I consider to have any merit at all.

That's why they should do 30 Days: Dead Space! 30 Days trapped inside a space station with a vampire. I think the last time a vampire was in space was "Lifeforce", which doesn't really count.
