Back in June we reported that British actor Brian Blessed, best know for starring as The King of The Hawk Men in "Flash Gordon," has been cast as Odin in the upcoming "Thor" movie.
Now comes word from both THR and Variety that Blessed is out and Anthony Hopkins is currently in talks for the role. For those not familiar with the comic books, Odin is the king of Asgard and the father of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and his evil half-brother Loki (Tom Hiddelston).
In addition, the sites have confirmed that Natalie Portman will play Jane Foster, Thor's love interest, and that production is set to get going in January.
Plot: The story sees the god of thunder Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions re-ignite an ancient war. As punishment, Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans. Once here, he learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends dark forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

I forget what the movie was called but Hopkins and Alec Baldwin were stuck in the woods and Hopkins was rocking a beard. That plus the eye patch/one eye? Awesome! And Jane Foster is the love interest of Donald Blake, not Thor. Thor's woman is Lady Sif.

Hopkins is God!! And I would actually prefer worshipping him every Sunday. The Edge rocked, he was bloody brilliant in Instinct (an underrated movie, probably due to Cuba Gooding Jr.). As for Portman, awwwahhh, drool, drool.

The perfect actor for the Odin lole is John Rhys-Davies (Gimli from LOTR)!He is 6'1',right age and physique,right voice and a very good actor!
As for Jane Foster,she was also thor's beloved.He even convince Odin to make her immortal so he could marrie her.But when she became a godess,she couldn't handle the feeling so she prefer to live as a mortal!
