A third trailer for the upcoming mystery/thriller "Shutter Island," starring Leonardo DiCaprio, has appeared online. Unlike the first two trailers, it focuses more on the creepy aspect of the film. Check it out below.

The story revolves around two US marshals (DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo) who travel to a Massachusetts island to investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane. Chaos ensues for the two as they encounter a web of deceit, a hurricane and a deadly inmate riot that leaves them trapped on the island.

The new film is directed by Martin Scorsese (The Departed) and is scheduled to hit theaters on October 2nd.

@VDODSON oh yes you can.

I'm hoping this cleans the bad taste they both have put in my mouth with their last half baked projects. This looks good, but trailers can be lie.

Johnny Neat- What film are you referring to? Gangs of New York, and The Departed were quality films. Sorry if it wasnt up to your favorite movie Transformers Revenge of the Fallen standards. Tosser.

But why did they push it? I mean, the buzz was great, still is, so I don't see why take from award season til February.

Spoiler: There's nothing supernatural in the book

They pushed it back because they said they didn't have the money to market the film properly and that DiCaprio wouldn't be available to do all the press required

autiger10: Di nero is not in this film. maybe it was Elias Koteas that you saw. They can look similar.
