Nick Stahl is the Lead in "Mirrors" SequelPosted: October 27th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff

We already know that 20th Century Fox is moving forward with a sequel to "Mirrors," which hit theaters last August and went on to earn almost $80 million in worldwide ticket sales.
Director Victor Garcia (Return to House on Haunted Hill) will helm from a script by Matt Venne (White Noise 2: The Light). And Bloody-Disgusting has now learned that Nick Stahl (Terminator 3, In the Bedroom) has signed on for the lead role of Max Matherson in "Mirrors 2."
Plot: After losing his fiancee in a car crash, for which he blames himself, suicidal Max Matheson (Stahl) reluctantly takes a job as a night watchman at his father's Mayflower Department Store. When his co-workers are killed off in gruesome and horrible ways and Max begins to see a mysterious young woman in all the store's mirrors, desperate to communicate with him, he fears he's losing his mind or that he may be the next victim.
Shooting is set to begin next month in Baton Rouge, LA. No word on whether this film will ever appear in theaters or will go straight to DVD.

So his girlfriend dies... as do his co-workers. Think maybe this guy is bad luck to hang around with?
And they're making a sequel to a movie that made ALMOST $80mil. WORLDWIDE... and they're debating if this sequel will go straight to DVD. Ahh... let me fill in the blanks for you!

They don't have to make every other sequel into a straight to dvd release.

They kind of do have to make every other sequel into a dtv release because R-rated movies just don't make enough money anymore. Therefore mainstream films don't take chances anymore. About the only chance taken in a big budget recent movie was probably Decepticon testicles in Transformers 2. Yeah, I'm bitter. I grew up with the greatness of Paul Verhoeven.
