Ricky Gervais to Host the Golden Globe Awards Posted: October 26th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced that actor Ricky Gervais (The Invention of Lying) will be hosting the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 17th, 2010 (8pm-11pm ET) on NBC. " Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry which includes both film and TV, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host. I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don't turn down," said Gervais. " We are delighted to have Ricky Gervais as the host on our show," said Philip Berk, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. " He'll bring his unique brand of humor and charm to what will continue to be a fast paced award show." Nominations for "The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards" will be announced at 8 am ET on Tuesday, December 15th.

Americans seem to love this guy. He is funny as long as he doesn't laugh.

Well, looks like I've got a good excuse not to watch this year. Bravo, Hollywood Foreign Press. You've failed once again.

Never liked his tv or his standup. The British version of the Office is horrible. But I did like him in The Invention of Lying. He should do more film.

Hey look, Derp69 is back! Bonehead, is the guy's success in America only measured by movies? Do you understand the concept of "TV" at all? Ricky Gervais's work has been 90% in TV, movies are part-time for him. Everything he does on TV has had high ratings! And guess what... because of this success, he's now hosting the Golden Globes!
Stupid and ignorant as always, uh Dherpes?

Meh, I have nothing against him, but I've never thought he was that funny.
NPH makes me laugh hysterically though.
