Will "Mamma Mia!" Sequel Use ABBA Songs Again?Posted: October 26th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
About a week ago, actor Colin Firth confirmed to Collider that a sequel to the "Mamma Mia!" musical is in the works. And even though the first movie features twenty two ABBA songs, ABBA member Benny Anderson told Firth that he doesn't want the second movie to be once again full of his band's music.
"From what I'm understanding, the people who do want to make it, are considering the possibility of using another band's music. Why not." Firth said. "But that's speculation."
Now, "Mamma Mia!" star Amanda Seyfried tells BBC that serious talks of a sequel are currently going on and that ABBA songs will once again be used.
"I've been talking to some insiders and it's not something that they haven't been working on," she said. "I know it's still going to be ABBA music, because what else would it be? Come on, I wouldn't do 'Mamma Mia 2' without Benny and Bjorn."
So both agree that the sequel is in the works, but regarding the music... it seems that producers might have find another band since Firth says that ABBA doesn't want their songs used again. Stay tuned.

Lol at Peter parker. My sentiments exactly. They could use a MC Hammer soundtrack for all I care.

mamma mia might not be the best film...but i dunno what abba's problem is...they want to be heard and made popular again to new generations?...did they not get any money from the studios using their songs?...i'll support them if that's the case...but if not otherwise, they need to stick it in their abba

I can tell I have to take a dump in about half an hour (sooner if this dark roast coffee cuts in), and I give more of a shit how that's going to go than this sequel!
How about Flavor Flav, Milli Vanilli and Michael Bolton (Gary Coleman for the background du-whups!) for suggestions then?
Sequel?! My shit-loaded ass!

Abba music is classic. No doubt about it. Mamma Mia was a lot of fun. Don't drain it. Let it live on for what it was.

How'd they do good enough for a sequel anyway? What was last year's opening b.o. (and maybe the budget)? Go my legions! Find the information and post a followup comment.
