"The Crow" Remake is Moving Forward

Posted: October 21st, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"The Crow" Remake is Moving ForwardSubmit Comment
It has almost been a year since it was revealed that Brandon Lee's "The Crow" would be rebooted by "Blade" director Stephen Norrington. In July, we learned that the movie will be very different from the original, a whole new story about a whole new character.

Mania is now reporting that Norrington's current draft of the script has been "very well received" by the studio, Relativity Media. The project is now moving forward and attention has now turned to casting the film.

Back in December, Norrington compared his version to the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed film. "Whereas Proyas' original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style," he explained.

This is gayer than Zac Efron and the end of "Knowing" combined

Why would you re-make this, one of my favorite movies? If anything just make another sequel, 2 and 3 weren't too bad. An actor gave his life making this, why would you re-do it in a more modern fashion? Just spit on Brandon Lee's grave, it's quicker and will save the studio a butt load of money on the budget.

Peter Parker, they won't remake the Bible, they only destroy stories that are mildly interesting!

Im sick of remakes too but isnt this technically another sequel? I mean, "different story, different character?" Wouldnt that just be a new installment?

I do agree that I hope it doesn't suck and further tarnish the series

whoever, if that's the case, then the bible would have been remade a looooooooooong time ago!

Biblic references apart, the original movie was awesome and should be left out of this remake frenzy that we've been seeing lately. It was an Icon of that time, with an amazing soundtrack and it set the pace and style for a lot of movies that came after...

Norrington, you did the second best Blade-movie. Be satisfied with that, retire or something. But stay the f*ck away from The Crow!!!

the crow is one of my favorite movies so whatever you do don't make it so diferen't a lot of fans of the crow are goth and marilyn manson fans.

rabid writes:

There are plenty more Crow stories to tell. Eric Draven was not the only Crow people. It's based on a comic book, so they're not really disrespecting anything by making another.

besides we all know that the ending of the original film was wrecked by Lee's death, no matter how good the rest of it was.

Booooo!!! What bullsh*t...the original was nearly perfect, it doesn't need a remake that no one is going to watch. There are literally thousands of other graphic novels that could be made, why spend the money on something that has been done, 3 times before? Don't these people realize that all they do is spew out recycled pieces of sh*t? How had is it to do something new? They could hire some no-name writer to do something 100x better, for a 1/4 of the f*cking cost.....geniuses

This movie is cursed.
rabid writes:

It's not a remake, Chosen One.
It's a totally new host for the Crow. In the comic books, I believe there have been six different people to become the Crow.
ACTIONFIGURE writes:

Let's hope that Norrington can make up for "LXG". Now, the real question is...Who's gonna play the lead? How bout a female?? Megan Fox sounds like a fit.
Mudders writes:

no way!!!

another cult classic is about to be slayed by greedy execs who cant think of anything original
rabid writes:
on October 23rd, 2009 at 5:19:09 AM

By that right, you could say that the first one wasn't very original, as it was based off a very popular comic book.
SHONUFF01 writes:

First off, I wanted to say Hi to all of you O.G's of WP, Second, this is a bad bad bad idea for them to do this. Let the movie rest! Matter of fact, let all movies rest, stop all remakes!!!
Deathscythe writes:

The original should never be touched or even compared to, ever. More realistic, f@ck that. The Crow is realistic enough, they kill a good man who doesn't deserve his death and is brought back to avenge the wrong doing done to him and his girlfriend. this isn't a disney story he doesn't get to live for making things right. BTW Shonuff-awesome choice on name buddy.
