Video: Is "In Memorium" the Next "Paranormal Activity"?

Video: Is In Memorium the Next Paranormal Activity?Submit Comment
Back in 2005, director Amanda Gusack ("The Betrayed" with Melissa George) put together a horror film called "In Memorium" on a tiny budget. The film appeared at several film festivals and is now starting to get noticed again due to the success of "Paranormal Activity." The funny thing is that "Paranormal" is considered a rip-off of "Memorium" and not the other way around.

Today we have three new clips from the film and they are definitely creepy. We requested a copy of this movie to check it out for ourselves. If it's as good as everyone says it is, I'll let you guys know.

Plot: On July 27, Dennis Wade was diagnosed with terminal cancer. On September 25th, he began to document his illness. On September 27th... the cameras recorded something else.

The acting isn't that bad, and the idea is fine, it's just the way it was filmed. Paranormal looked more like a documentary which added to the creepiness, this just looks like another Syfy movie.

This doesn't look good but it's hard to be worse than Paranormal activity, that movie was the polar opposite of scary, engaging, or suspenseful.

It's not like Paranormal is a masterpiece or something. I mean I didn't even find it scary at all. People are too easily scared these days like get the fuck out of here lol they need to go back and look at what's already been.

Trailer doesn't look good, but why would they even make a movie similar to Paranormal Activity when the movie is slowly becoming a nation wide release? The acting and overall feel of this movie is crap compared to Paranormal Activity's amateur acting, which is superb by the way since Micah and Katie aren't even a couple or met each other until the movie.

In the end, they're all just trying to be the next Blair Witch Project.

Nothing will beat paranormal activity. Including this unscary piece of shit.

I just finished watching paranormal activity and I thought it was awesome.
@Hardcore "Paranormal looked more like a documentary which added to the creepiness, this just looks like another Syfy movie." 4sure. And PA was a documentary film that was done Right, not like Blair Witch/Quarantine/Cloverfield....PA was actually believable, well at least the camera work and acting was :/
Makidian writes:

I didn't finish watching the first clip because it looks like shit. If PA ripped off this movie I will be shocked. The whole reason that PA works and is terrifying is because it looks like genuine found footage. It look like Micah bought an expensive camera and filmed it that way, and through the entire movie it never lets up. This looks like straight up B material, and that's being generous. There is no way this movie will ever enjoy the success that Paranormal has or will, shit Blair Witch shouldn't even have had the kind of success it is having because it is shit compared to it.

somebody explain to me how paranormal activity was scary? seriously it's baffling me, the ONLY scary thing occured in the last minute and a half. other than that it was a door moving back and forth, sheets moving around, and loud noises for an hour and a half. How was that movie scary, terrifying, or interesting? I read something about people not being able to sleep after seeing it, the only way I'll lose sleep over that is because it's insulting that the director is making millions off a crap movie.
