Photos: Extremis Armor in "Iron Man 2"?Posted: October 18th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Today we have a shot of a new Iron Man toy that carries the "Iron Man 2" title and features the title hero with a triangular chest piece. Check out the photo below that contains another toy and poster that appeared at a recent convention.
Fans will recognize the new suit as Tony Stark's Extremis armor. And even though the "Iron Man" DVD contains a featurette called "Extremis and Beyond," fans will argue that it might be too soon to introduce the Extremis storyline.
In the comics, Stark injected his nervous system with a modified techno-organic virus to save his own life after being critically injured during a battle with a nanotech-enhanced foe. This fused Stark's armor to his body, allowing him to store the inner layers of the Iron Man armor in the hollows of his bones as well as control it through direct brain impulses.
The Extremis enhancement has turned Stark into a cyborg and effectively functions like his second skin. It was later stated that the Extremis endowed Stark with a "healing factor," making Stark immune to cancer.

Big deal. Adi Granov designed the suit. Just because they're using the modern suit doesn't mean they're going to cram in the biomech storyline. Extremis is a whole movie to itself, and would look retarded on the screen. John Favreau is old school. He does not want his version of Tony Stark using telekinesis to put his armor on.

You guys ever think that it could be at the end of the second movie to set up Iron Man 3? Doesn't mean it's too early. But could just be a hint in the second movie to set up the third installment. A wild guess, but we'll see what happens.
