Nicolas Cage's "Hungry Rabbit Jumps" Story Details

We recently reported that Nicolas Cage has signed on for "The Hungry Rabbit Jumps" thriller about a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime. He subsequently becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization.

MTV has now had a chance to speak to producer James D. Stern to get a few more details. "It's a thriller about a guy who has something quite [unfortunate] happen to his wife," Stern said of the film's premise. "He's approached by a vigilante group and they can take care of it, because it doesn't look like the police will be able to. In exchange, he'll have to owe them a favor. He mistakenly takes them up on it and finds himself in a bind that's hard to get out of."

Many believe that Cage cannot perform in thriller anymore without completely overacting. But that's not how Stern feels. "He's perfect for it. We're really, really thrilled."

Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) is directing the new film will begin shooting this January in New Orleans.

Donaldson makes me hopeful. BANK JOB was a lot of fun, and he has some classics under his belt.

Definetly not 'god' awful... Maybe he's not at the top of his game anymore, but the man definetly has range. Just scane over his catalog if you don't believe me. You can find almost one film for every genre that was atleast good if not great.
