"Arrested Development" Movie to Shoot in the Spring

Posted: October 5th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
"Arrested Development" Movie to Shoot in the SpringSubmit Comment
About a month ago, Jason Bateman stated that Mitch Hurwitz was working on the script for the "Arrested Development" movie. THR has now confirmed that Hurwitz and his co-executive producer James Vallely are still in the writing phase, but are planning to begin filming in the spring.

There are many things that can derail this project, including the fact that Bateman, Will Arnett and Michael Cera have become big stars since the show, and that Hurwitz is prepping a new comedy series with Arnett.

According to Hurwitz, those things shouldn't get in the way, since he wouldn't have even started writing unless he knew that all the actors were on board.

Director Ron Howard (Angels and Demons), who executive produced the series and provided the voice of the narrator, will not be asked to direct the movie. Hurwitz will take on the job, making it his helming debut. Howard, however, will produce and once again provide the voice.

excellent news, a shame this show isn't on anymore and crap like Two and a half men or any other "comedy" show out there now.

Agreed, Nope. Probably the best comedy show ever, IMHO, and it barely made it through it's 3rd season. Just one more reason to not like FOX. I've seen every episode atleast a dozen times and I've been waiting for this since before they announced it. As long as everybody's on board, I really don't see any way that this won't be atleast as good as the show, if not better. I hope they even bleep out the curses like they used to do. It seemed funnier like that, not knowing exactly what they were saying when they went off on a long rant. With any luck maybe NBC will pick up the rights after the movie comes out. They're the only network that can actually produce funny shows anymore. (except Sunny in Philly, of course)

Woo. Even though season three kinda blew, I'm totally ready for some more AD.

I saw a screening of this at a film festival three weeks ago and it was terrible.

meta: You saw a screening of a movie that a single frame hasn't been shot yet?

Arrested Development was pure brilliance. it was being on that network that killed it. it would have thrived on showtime for a few more seasons at least. but if it hadn't been cnaceled it wouldnt have the legacy it does now and we wouldn't be gettin a movie.

Are you kidding me? Season three was almost the best. Their amount of episodes was cut down but they didn't let that get in the way. The jokes and references were thrown at you constantly, and they weren't done in a bad way. Now I have to admit, I didn't like the finale as it was basically just all thrown together, but man, Save The Bluths? The 3D tomato? It was all just amazingly funny.

It's all been going downhill since season 4.

Hey, nope.com, more like hasagoodopinion?...nope.com, can't even think of one good comedy besides arrested development? How about it's always sunny. And why don't you try writing a good comedy, instead of rocking all of them while keepin the porn on the back burner for after nerd time on worstpreviews.

If Cera tries to back out of this I will hunt that little f*ck down and give him the worst Indian Burn ever.
