Michael Moore's "Capitalism" is Free for the Homeless

Michael MooreSubmit Comment
Michael Moore's "Capitalism: A Love Story" had the highest per-screen average of the weekend, which is why his new documentary has expanded to over 1,000 theaters, starting tomorrow (October 2nd).

But even with such success, Moore hasn't forgotten about the little people. He has organized several free screening across the country for the homeless and poverty-stricken.

He stated on his site: "I've asked the studio to offer a number of screenings in the nation's hardest hit cities -- the ones with the highest unemployment rates and highest foreclosure rates -- where those who've lost their jobs or who are in foreclosure (or have already been evicted) may attend my film free of charge."

Moore added that you don't need to prove that you're broke, starving, and terribly ill, admission will be based on the honor system. Check out the list of where the free screening will take place here.

I enjoy his films too. He exaggerates alot, but he's doing good work, and he always keeps it witty.
dandythelion writes:

yeah witty, but i think mos tof his haters mistake the comedy he puts in his films as him just being an *sshole. like the reading the patriot act out of an ice cream truck in washington.

michael moore is a real punk. keep it up man.

@dandy - you left a pleasant review/post?!

You ok?

@Ranger, hahaha.

I have never heard of anything like this before for a film that is in theaters. Very cool. The only thing that bugs me about Moore is how fat he is, get gastric bypass or something. Or maybe he will make a doc*mentary about obesity and the difficulty of losing weight later on in life. Probably not though, bet he kicks the bucket of natural causes in 8 years tops if he doesn't lose that weight. sh*t, with how crazy right wingers are getting I wouldn't be suprised if he gets killed by one of them.

Good for him, he's just bating haters to say that this is a dumb idea, with his fans in turn asking them why they hate the homeless.
Ranger writes:

Why don't all the homeless just live in his belly?
stevepoots writes:

quite noble of him

One of the few artists left in the world. His film leaks to the internet and his happy that people are watching it.

Good on him.

Are all the screenings going to take place in and around Detroit?

Michael Moore is a load of political sh*t. Does anyone on hear read the "real" news about what's going on in this country? Do any of you get down to the real nitty gritty or do you just react to what's in your local made-up liberal bullsh*t. Acorn anyone?

And he's a fat pig living off capitalism. A FAT PIG.

So is Babe. But the difference between Michael Moore and Babe is that Moore was nominated for 2 Academy Awards whereas Babe was nominated for 7.

Did he get the word out about the free screenings buy advertising on brown paper bags from the liquor store?
kickit writes:

@MDP - What does Acorn have to do with Michael Moore? Absolutely nothing. If you're going to try and make an argument, at least use some legit points. You might not agree with his political leanings, but Moore is out there trying to help and tell the stories of people he feels society has left behind. Have you ever even seen his movies?
Armpit writes:

Someone needs to throw a cactus at MM so we can be rid of him.
The reason he's so fat is that he's full of sh*t.
Girls with no money can also c*cksuck me. Hey, I'm generous.
I'll also donate my garbage to the U.N. so they can send it to Africa and for Xmas, I'll give my copy of Plan 9 from Outer Space to a kid.
Talk about being generous.
If he was really generous - he should send his body to some cannibals - he could feed a whole village for a month.

ACORN is just another group that helps the poor. Forty years, they've helped the poor finance a home or start a business. Republicans shirk at showing any humanity to the lower class. If we help each other too much, they call it socialism. For the GOP, only the rich and white are entitled to assistance. They see a black man in office and think the sky is falling.

"Republicans shirk at showing any humanity to the lower class."

No they don't...don't be an idiot. They believe in giving through ones on volition not having special interest groups loby government to steal from one and give to another.

... like the way Republicans pander to religious special interest groups and the defense industry.
The Man writes:

rabid you sound like a like a leftwing tool.
First those religious groups you talk about. Don't take tax dollars....they raise money for donations from hardworking people.
Defence industry (which has nothing to do with the topic...convieient leftist debate tactic, deflect the conversation.)
deffence indsutry protects your ass and does not steal from you.

I hope a Michael Moore sex tape is never released (of course... he's have to actually have sex for that to happen).
