Is Robert Pattinson the Lead in "Dune" Remake?

Is Robert Pattinson the Lead in "Dune" Remake?Submit Comment
Rumors going around the internet have named "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson as the lead in the upcoming "Dune" remake, based on Frank Herbert's sci-fi novel. Zap2It has just found out that the rumor is absolutely untrue.

It comes as no surprise that casting rumors would begin circulating, since back in April producer Kevin Misher revealed that he expected Josh Zetumer to turn in a script shortly and to get a greenlight soon after.

Unfortunately just two weeks ago, director Peter Berg said that Zetumer was still working on the script, trying to "beat [the 200-page script] into something manageable without offending the purists."

So don't expect any casting until there is a script for actors to see.

"Is Robert Pattinson the Lead in "Dune" Remake?"

If so, then is the release date 12/21/12?

Does anyone really care?

Remakes galore in Hollywood. Over it. How about do every movie over again, in 3D Shmegavision where you might get the chance to smell a twat and see it c*mming at you as well.

At Spooky, yeah... lol. Nice!

I hope this guy doesn't get this. I don't think his acting skill is up for it. Sorry Twilight fans... I'm not hating on this guy. I just haven't seen him do much other than Kristen.

@ Ranger ... OH SNAP!

Seriously though, FAAAAAARRRRKK NOOOOOOOO !!! ... And so ends my comment.

GOOOD. Can't stand pattinson. Paul is a bad-ass... not a virgin gay vampire who sparkles.

Maybe they confused the Salt with the Gay Sparkles ?

shut up about remakes people. jus stop talking. enough of the "i'm sick of remakes" bullsh*t. don't buy a ticket, don't f*cking complain. no one is going to recall and ban all the previous DUNE dvd's. that sh*tty film could use a remake. and go soft on Pattinson, he's rich and nailing Kristen Stewart every night. You dumbf*cks work at wal-mart and are nailing the only fat chick with low self esteem that would f*ck you.

'You dumbf*cks... are nailing the only fat chick with low self esteem that would f*ck you.' --- can we leave your Mother out of this dandy?

Ranger, don't even bother arguing with Dandy. His/her/its favourite Terminator was Salvation and he/she/it hated 1 and 2.

You shall also notice how he/she/it defends an actor, not based on his talent or personality, but by the fact that he has money and has sex with some actress.

Trust me, leave something this stupid to die on it's own. You know, fall of a chair and hit its head on a table.

Hey fat chicks need love too, how the hell do you think that you were concieved? And if I had a shot to nail Kristen Stewart I'd pass, plenty of fine ass around town. That ho ain't nothing special

Just saying.... :)

ehh okay, that's acceptable i suppose. The guy's not a terrible actor, and he kind of looks the way I picture Paul Atreides.

...ugh...remake...reboot...why don't they actually bomb Hollyweird and they can do a remake of the studios so they can give just new movies. Ok - Fagison will go fight for salt & pepper shakers. We've been served that meal already...and it was good.
synthetic1985 writes:

no offense...but after twilight, and his role in harry potter 4, it's not enough...he needs to be in a better movie for me to be able to credit him as 'being able to do anything' as brett ratner already thinks
rabid writes:

Dune should be remade. The Lynch version is a good film, but nowhere near as great as the novel. Sci Fi did an amazing job on remaking it ten years ago, but much of the acting was terrible.
Armpit writes:

Sin-tit-tit - I know that romantic vampire movies are a little "out" with horny 25-45 males but however - there is a large crowd for it. I don't blame Fagison for it's poor artistic faillure (although the money part was a success). Gagison did his part - he delivered his lines ok - although a little overacting - like school scenes and stuff. Where they really blew c*ck is when they went tree-jumping - fx in that movie where at best barely watchable.
When you have a book that's a best seller - you should be able to make a very decent movie. I blame higher than sh*tison for this.
