What Will Happen to Roman Polanski's "The Ghost" Film?

Posted: September 29th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
What Will Happen to Roman PolanskiSubmit Comment
Director Roman Polanski's arrest in Switzerland (for rapping a 13-year-old girl 32 years ago) has left his latest film "The Ghost," starring Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor, in limbo. While the new movie has yet to secure a US distributor, the famous helmer already set up deals in many foreign territories.

Polanski's agent, Jeff Berg, said that the director had completed much of the editing on "The Ghost." But other post-production work, including music scoring and sound mixing, had yet to be done. Polanski likes to completely finish his films before shopping them around, but Berg said that he's confident that everything will go as planned and that they'll be able to find distribution.

Right now, Polanski is not focusing on finishing the film. He and his French lawyer are in the middle of getting the director released. The plan is to request for the Swiss authorities to simply let Polanski go. The step after that is for the defense team to demonstrate the illegal nature of the extradition request he is facing.

If a Pierce Brosnan film gets shelved, I won't lose any sleep (c*cky, sh*tty, p*ssy, Bond he was!).

He was the worst Bond ever to grace the silver screen. Craig makes him look like a crippled Gary Coleman.

Lol

"Rapping a 13 year old girl?"

Did he freestyle with her? haha

Director Roman Polanski's arrest in Switzerland (for "rapping" a 13-year-old girl 32 years ago)

Since when is that a crime?

The ghost will disappear - like Pierce's Bond's invisible car. Stick with Fearless Vampire Killers.

Hopefully we'll see this picture done. I have a complete Polanski collection, and I was looking forward to adding this one.

@VDOD - we agree as usual (crippled Coleman though... nice touch Bro! lol!).

Yeah, Bond's invisible f*cking car... ugh!

Connery, Craig, and Lazenby. The rest... I couldn't care less (and before I get the 'Moore' fans on me. I liked him... just not as much as the 3 I listed).

There was a period where there were no Bond for like more than 4 years. At the time they even considered doing a new concept: Jane Bond - and Sharon Stone was on the list of contenders at the time. I KID YOU NOT.
Then they got Pierce - and the guy has a fantastic face and great hair but even in a suit - he's skinny like a teen girl. Someone made the remark that Bruce Lee was skinny but when you see Pierce without a shirt - he's pretty bony, no mass, no muscle. If you sneeze too hard - he's gonna fly away...
George Hamilton was mentionned too but he was in the same category as Bronsnan.
However - Craig is the next best thing to a vd ointment when you got that itch that won't go. He's got mass, and he's got the look of a killer while still retaining some charm from his serious looks. You would take this guy seriously if he put a gun to your head. Casino Royal was really good - a good Bond like - well - maybe like we've never seen. Craig II started off well with the guy in the trunk but it seems that the rest of the movie was the prolongation of the first one - like Casino Royal 1.2 or something.
If the next Bond doesn't come up with another original entry - that'll be it for Craig.

I haven't seen QoS, yet. But comments (like yours) have been luke warm across the board for it. So... I'll await it's appearance on the movie channel.

The Ghost movie will never be made.... no substance.
