James Cameron's "Battle Angel" Sounds AwesomePosted: September 15th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
"Battle Angel" has been on James Cameron's to-do list for quite a while. But since he's working on "Avatar," a film that has a very good chance of being successful, 20th Century Fox may want him to make a few sequels rather than focus his attention on something else.
Now comes news directly from Cameron's camp (via MarketSaw) that "Battle Angel" is being talked about and only "Avatar 2" could derail it. In addition, Cameron's people also offered a few words about "Angel."
Q: What is happening right now with "Angel"? A: he tests are "Beautiful" and "Complex" beyond your wildest dreams. Stunningly beautiful, considering the fact that some are old(ish). Imagine this for a second. A cyborg chick "the Angel of Death" taking out "a lot" of other part man, part machine type "people."
Q: What do those tests contain? A: Now picture the "Angel of Death" looking like a child. a 14 year old. Now imagine this, this little girl goes through these guys like butter. Did you see the KICK-ASS trailer? Well imagine that girl via the Matrix via Ghost in the shell, via AI. "Remember the True Lies bathroom brawl?" Well take out Arnold, and "copy and paste" Bruce Lee on acid via the Terminator. as seen through the eyes of a sweet innocent 14 year old cyborg girl. [Ed. Note: What did I just read there?] And all of this done via the mind of James Cameron, Holy shit what is not to love? The lights flicker and shit hits the fan. Awesome stuff.

So it's a 14 year old part girl, part machine, part angel killing a bunch of people we've seen thousands of times before?
"Holy sh*t what is not to love?"
Everything about it, for starters. It sounds like sh*t. I'm gonna have to agree with TGDirector. More hype for another fail.

I don't see how you can say that Cameron is building up hype for Battle Angel based off this post. Nothing in this post is something Cameron has said. You stupid f*cks are too dumb and reactionary to notice though.

Oh a more serious note, I think Cameron is a beastialic pedophile.
He wants to f*ck an alien, then thinks that a semi robotic 14 year old should be hot too?
Yea, he's not staying in the same room with my kids.

I like how this post gives no info on the fact that this film is based on a manga series, "Battle Angel Alita". Whatever.

He never mentioned or gave a quick synopsis of the anime Battle Angel. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was short (40mins long), unfinished (meaning they never explained enough of the story), and never continued in a sequel. Out of those three issues, it still was well done for its defects! I'd like to see what Cameron can do with it! This may be the second best live-action movie coming from the anime/animation realm.

okay... that's a strange director for that project. At least his Battle Angle Alita would have some serious money behind it.

TGDirector writes: on September 16th, 2009 at 3:07:36 AM
Rabid - No...its not strange...its expected. He's old and getting senile, what more do you want!? He has a freaking 200 million dollar budget for no reasons!

Well, I wouldn't say for no reasons BUT still! That's way way too much money for one movie.

Seriously, have no one in here read the manga that this movie is based on? It's called "Battle Angle Alita", and it is one of the best comics ever made. The story is really clever and the setting is as awesome as Blade Runner. It's filled with brutal cyborg action, but it's also has a really deep and intriguing plot. Check out the wikipedia page for more info, or better yet, read the comic! It is a very original story, and a lot of science fiction is just pale in comparison.

If Cameron can stay true to the level of detail and violence that the anime always delivers this could be amazing. Cameron has always delivered on a good script and a decent story, which is usually where anime struggles.

Why can't James Cameron be like everyone else and get a comic book franchise goin' and just run it into the ground. Why does he have to try to be creative and "groundbreaking" all the time? it's really getting old man.
