Chris Evans Wants "Fantastic Four 3" without Tim Story

Chris Evans Wants "Fantastic Four 3" without Tim StorySubmit Comment
It seems like Chris Evans is not a fan of the "Fantastic Four" movies, even though he stars in them as the Human Torch. Before the second film was released, he said that he is not interested in returning for the third one. "It takes up a lot of time. It's a big commitment," he said. "I'm happy with walking away."

Now that 20th Century Fox is pushing forward with a reboot by hiring Michael Green to pen the script, Evans is once again interested in returning to the franchise, even though he knows that the studio may want to start from scratch.

"I think there's room to readjust the tone in Fantastic Four as it was for Batman," he said. "If Fantastic Four got rebooted and Christopher Nolan was going to direct it and said do you want to play Johnny Storm again, I'd be in those blue f*cking tights."

It sounds like his old statement about walking away came when he thought that Tim Story would return to direct the third "Fantastic Four" film. But now that Fox may be looking for a more talented helmer, Evans is once again considering returning to the franchise.

"I love movies and good movies come from good directors and if a good director offers you a chance to make a good movie, you take it even if you say, well I just played a character like that," he said.

Mmmm.. Sounds like a little bitch... He was just as bad an actor in F4 as Story was a director.. Evans is a joke.

Hes Chris Evans, he needs money now

Look, Dammit!! Not every super hero movie needs to be The Dark Knight!! I, personally, didn't mind the FF movies at all. They were kinda cool. They were a little silly, but so was the comic. If every superhero movie just tries to be "dark" for the sake of impersonating Nolan, then they are going to suck twice as much.

I wish they would just stop making these movies... or pointless sequels overall.

A Fantastic Four reboot this soon is useless no matter who directs or acts in it.

my only problem with fantastic four as well as other comic movies was that there was never enough action...and by action i mean fights between heroes and villains...nothing more really...i mean look at adam west in 'batman'....they had a sh*tload of villains in that movie...maybe not the best batman movie....but for its time and for the sake of pleasing the comic book fans...it worked well

evans is the only thing i think worked in the fantastic 4 movies
Feanor224 writes:

I don't know, synthetic...Rise of the Silver Surfer, corny as it could be, had some pretty consistent action scenes.

atn...I agree with you. You could scrap the rest, but Evans was an awesome Torch. For those of you who don't read FF comics, Evans was exactly like the comics Torch.

He was terrible. If replaced, nobody would notice or care.

@feanor, ya he was great for the role, and i do like michael chiklis (huge shield fan) but i didnt like the way they took his character. Idk if anyone saw this, but like a week ago IGN made a list of people they think should be cast in the reboot, i thought it was a pretty decent list. http://movies.ign.com/articles/102/1021635p1.html

idk why but i like cam gigandet, he would be a good torch too

Yeah, that's just what Nolan needs to do right now. To helm a comic book movie with sh*t actors about the poor man's X-men. While we're at it, he should direct a few episodes of Heroes.

No need to start over. Just make them better from here on.
DoucheNozzle writes:

Evans was the only worthwhile in those flicks, and he.com's abso-f*ckin'lutely right about Story. Who in their right mind would give their superhero franchise to the director of Barbershop and Taxi? Oh yeah, those mongoloids at Fox.

CitizenKang writes:

The four are called 'fanatastic' for a reason.

They need to start completely over. Set afire anyone and everything that came into contact with the first two films. Sure, those films closely resemble the older comic books. That's not necessarily a good thing. Adam West's Batman was much like the original Batman comics, but no one in their right mind thinks 60s camp is cool. Start over. Clean story, ditch Alba, Story, Chiklis, Evans and the guy that played the other guy. Whoever he was. But this is Fox, so there's no hope. It's like asking Lucas to deliver a really great film.
CitizenKang writes:

'fantstic', not fanatastic.
CitizenKang writes:

darkknight1985 writes:

@ Feanor224
Exactly! You don't need to make every superhero movie dark and go the Dark Knight way to make it successful. Best example is Iron Man. Nearly a polar opposite to DK if there can be one. Yet it did really well.
Ranger writes:

However this franchise goes... Chris Evans could learn to shut the f*ck up. He's an actor. He's not producing, and has such little say in how, what, where and with whom things will go. Just bottle it Chris. He was the best thing in the FF movies (that and Alba's no-spill lips, and those deep, dark Brittany Spears (pre-f*cked up whacko job) eyes....mmmm), but he shouldn't push his luck.

Just sit back quietly and wait for the phone to ring Chris.
ACTIONFIGURE writes:

Funny...Chris Evans is flaming even when he's not the human torch.
Hollywood1086 writes:
on September 15th, 2009 at 4:12:17 PM

he is aware that if they do actually "reboot" the franchise, all the parts will prob be recast, right? personally i think this whole "reboot" thing is garbage. just bc it was successful with batman doesn't mean it is necessary for EVERY SINGLE EFFING SERIES. fantastic four, spiderman (which is ludicrous bc it hasn't even finished yet!), resident evil...THERES NO NEED FOR IT. if a movie flops, it wont be a success redone a few years later with different people. GET SOME ORIGINAL IDEAS!!!!
synthetic1985 writes:
on September 16th, 2009 at 12:07:24 AM

no offense...never said chris evans sucked....he was great as human torch...usually when i bash on certain movies it's more the storyline and the direction i see these directors take them, it's like they can only show certain parts of the comics for certain movie lengths, and then the same goes with villains and heroes too...somebody always messes up
Ranger writes:
on September 16th, 2009 at 5:05:33 AM

@synth - I agree. As I posted above... I think Chris was the most redeeming thing about the FF movies... because the rest was pretty mediocre. From The Things rubber suit (he's supposed to be the size of The Hulk, to pretty-boy gone mad Dr. Doom to they 'containing' the Silver Surfer (puhhlleeaasseee!).

Anywhore... maybe they'll get it right... eventually.

Armpit writes:

He probably said that after he made a couple of millions and now that it's been spent, that the royalties are not THAT good - that he won't have any other parts in any other movies - he like back in otherwise it's back to being a gogo dancer for the 55+ women. So now, Mr Evans - will do anything for money - yes, even work!
