Nicolas Cage's "Green Hornet" Replacement Found

Seth Rogen's "The Green Hornet" movie has been filming for two weeks now, but it was only a few days ago that Nicolas Cage decided to drop out, leaving the Chudnofsky villain role in need of an actor.

Deadline is now reporting that director Michel Gondry has already found the person to replace Cage, and it is Christopher Walts. Many of you may have never heard of him, but he recently won Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival for playing a Nazi in Quentin Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds." His name is also being thrown around for a possible Oscar nomination.

"The Green Hornet" also stars Cameron Diaz, Jay Chou, Edward James Olmos, David Harbour, Tom Wilkinson and a cameo from Adam Sandler. It is scheduled to hit theaters on December 17th, 2010.

This is awesome news, he was one of the best parts of Basterds, certainly the best acting performance.

So I see they hired an Actor that doesn't have an IRS Hitman on his ass. Nice.

Even though I'm excited for this news, because he was fantastic in "Inglourious Basterds", I hope he delivers a totally different villian in this one, and it doesn't get type cast.

What's Waltz's problem with Jews? First he hunts WW2-era Jews, now he is going to mess with The Hair Jew (Mr. Rogen). What a Nazi... ;) But really, he should give a fun performance, though Cage probably would have done the same. This news has me about ready to buy a ticket, Gondry directing Waltz, should be exciting...

YES YES YES YES YES! when i read the WP headline i was thinking 'ah man they probably found someone lame or some random unknown who cant act' but hell, im definitely in line to see the GH if Christoph Walts is the villian! he's a brilliant actor, and he was one of the best things about Basterds!!
