Pixar is NOT Developing "Ant-Man"

Pixar is NOT Developing "Ant-Man"Submit Comment
Director Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz) recently revealed that he has already completed the first draft of Marvel's "Ant-Man" movie, and now that he's wrapping up "Scott Pilgrim," he is planning to focus on the second draft. According to Entertainment Weekly, he'll be getting some help from some very talented people.

"Pixar is said to already be eyeballing an Ant-Man movie," the magazine recently stated. This news comes just days after the announcement that Disney will acquire Marvel Entertainment and that Pixar has already had talks with the folks at Marvel about some of their movies.

Wright now tells Chud that Pixar is not currently involved with his movie and doesn't think that "Ant-Man" is a good fit for the animation studio. "The news that Pixar is involved is not wholly accurate and a little premature to comment on," he said. "I love Pixar's work more than anyone and indeed would love to collaborate with them."

He continued: "I'm not sure though that they would want to do a 'shrinking' film as a Pixar animation - since 'Toy Story' and 'A Bug's Life' already cover this territory to some extent. Am guessing that someone just speculated on the 'bug' angle and tried to put two and two together. My spin on 'Ant Man' is very different than a straight superhero origin - and very much live action."

Regarding status, Wright once again reiterated that he is working on the second draft and has also already chatted with Marvel to discuss the next phase. "At some point in this century, I intend to stop talking about it and make the damn thing," he said.

this is good news. I was afraid that if they animated him, they might decide to leave him out of the live action Avengers.

@SpookyCupcakes

Similiar ideas no doubt...We all know which was first. Thankfully Pixar can weave and pace a better story. They should have left the grpahic novel alone- that was the best medium for that story.
