"Big Momma's House 3" in the Works

"Big MommaSubmit Comment
20th Century Fox has hired Randi Mayem Singer (Mrs Doubtfire) to pen a script for the third installment in the "Big Momma's House" franchise.

In the original "Big Momma's House," Martin Lawrence stars as FBI agent Malcolm Turner who goes deep undercover as he disguise himself as a long-lost grandmother of a brutal bank robber's ex-girlfriend and her son.

The first movie earned over $170 million in worldwide ticket sale on a $30 million budget. The sequel was released six years later, earning under $140 million on a $40 million budget.

it is a Fox movie.guess desperate times call for desperate measures.and why is "house" in the title? i unfortunately saw the 2nd one years ago and not once did any scene take place in the house.

Wow, this is fantastic news! The first 2 were so funny and memorable there just had to be 3rd. How about Big Momma's House 3D? That woud be even better. Niggah please.....

Judging by the scale slope of the first two, I guess Fox figures they can squeeze profit out of just one more. With a budget of about $50 million since I'm sure Lawrence will request a big payday out of fear this will be a disaster, Fox could possibly net about $70 million.
It's gonna be damn funny when the projections show there's little to no desire for this and it's ear marked for a straight to DVD release, Lawrence backs out, and the entire project is tossed.

Hasn't Tyler Perry made this film like 10 times now. I'm black (and a closet Martin fan), and I HATE these movies. Where's Black Knight 2? (just kidding) Bring on Bad Boy 3.
murphyslaw93 writes:

Big Momma's House 3 vs. Bad Boys 3.

Martin Lawrence can gain some respect and dignity back with only one of those.
murphyslaw93 writes:

And what is it with these once great black comics resorting so low that they decide to put on fat suits and dress up like women. And if they dont do both of those, they do just one. Eddie Murphy plays 8 different fat people in a laughable franchise, the Wayans brothers become the scariest lookin white chicks I've ever seen. Murphy again puts on a fat suit, this time as a horrendous woman. Now Martin Lawrence will have played a fat woman three times. Like c'mon, really?!
SACdaddy writes:

That's just Hollywood's lack of respect for Black actors not named Will Smith and Denzel and their lack of respect for the audience in general. They think we're too stupid accept black people in any other capacity. Its no different than when they were casting Blacks only as maids, pimps, and thugs.
SACdaddy writes:

That being said Eddie Murphy (20 film contract with Disney), Martin Lawrence, and especially Tyler Perry are just as much to blame for perpetuating these negative images for nothing more than "mo money". f*ck these guys too!

Ok, maybe Martin won't have to wear the suit this time. There's no need for this movie at all.

Robin Williams SUCKS c*ck! He is a void. Ever watch him in an interview. There is NO Robin Williams. There is only every character he does. He has NOTHING to offer so he ACTS ALL THE TIME. I NEVER liked him. He should vanish!!!

workingdead writes:

There is a specific audience who will go see these movies. Tyler Perry's name alone brings a given draw at the box office as does Martin Lawrence. I have never seen either of these movies, but there are certain people who will go and give their money every time.

@SAC: See but that fat suit represented his own sex, not the opposite. And Cruise's dialogue was better than the sight gag of him being a fat overweight exec.

Never seen either of the first 2... never will.

Will never see the 3rd. one... ever.

But CLEARLY they make money. Were I the studio... with these kinds of returns... hate these movies or not... they make BIG cash!
halostingray87 writes:
on September 3rd, 2009 at 11:59:40 PM

They should make like "Big Momma's Half-way House" and Martin Larwence can play all the characters in the film. Nothing like 90 minutes of funny fat-suites while he's on the bender!!
Ranger writes:
on September 4th, 2009 at 12:05:08 AM

And Lohan could play his boozing, slutty, loser half-sister.
halostingray87 writes:
on September 4th, 2009 at 12:17:04 AM

And the movie would revolve around someone breaking into the half-way house and getting into the safe with all the best sh*t! Then Eddie Murphey will run in and start screamin "Party all da time!" Megan Fox will sit in the corner deciding on which personality of hers will blow me when I make things simple for her and suggest inviting all her physchosis and we can have a gang-bang! Then I go get a perscription of penis-cillan (<-- I laughed at that one meself) out of Eddie's transexual date's purse and the whole thing will be in 3D!!!
TeemSelami writes:
