Joel Silver to Remake "Swamp Thing" in 3-D

Joel Silver to Remake "Swamp Thing" in 3-DSubmit Comment
During the press conference for "Whiteout," Collider had the chance to catch up with producer Joel Silver and ask him about some of his upcoming projects, which apparently include a remake of Wes Craven's 1982 film "Swamp Thing."

"I'm developing a picture now that I'd like to do," he said. "I'll hopefully do 'Swamp Thing,' which is a movie we've had for a long time. We think that would be great to do in 3D."

Plot of the original film: Deep in the Florida everglades, a brilliant scientist, Dr. Alec Holland (Ray Wise), and a sexy government agent, Alice Cable (Adrienne Barbeau), have developed a secret formula that could end world hunger. Little do they know, however, that their arch nemesis, Arcane (Louis Jourdan), is plotting to steal the serum for his own selfish schemes. Looting the lab and kidnapping cable, Arcane douses Holland with the chemicals and leaves him for dead. Mutated by his own formula, Holland becomes "Swamp Thing" - a half-human/half-plant superhero who will stop at nothing to rescue cable and defeat Arcane...even if it costs him his life!

f*ck Joel Silver, f*ck 3-D. f*ck f*ckING REMAKES! HEY STUDIO, HERE:

1. Hire a competent ass director that respects the sh*t out of source material.
2. Don't remake swamp thing, just adapt the Alan Moore first 3 issues.
3. f*ck YOU HOLLYWOOD.
4. Joel Silver f*cks Lohan.

That pic is from the sequel "The Return of Swamp Thing", not the original movie. I loved them as a kid, but they were both pretty terrible.

Wes Cravens gonna be pissed! doesnt he hate when people remake his flicks??

Yeah! The others one's sucked ass...the second has a cool opening montage featuring classic comic pages edited to CCR's Born on a Bayou...annnnnnd that's about it.

REMAKE THE sh*t OUT OF IT!

Except for the scene where Swampy rips the roof off the jeep and the roof lifts off a few seconds after Swampy makes the movement. lmao- you can see the friggin rope lifting it off sooo clearly. Wes Craven's sucked soooo bad- took itself way too seriously.

The second tried to be a tamed down Toxic Avenger with intentional cheesiness- but it seriously sucks past that opening montage. Though it does have one of the best child actors I've ever seen. Ya gotta love that chubby kid with the deep south accent.

Swamp Thing was just never given a decent budget. Joel Silver producing could make it quite wild whether they follow Allan Moore's vision of it or not.

...and Yeah! f*ck you Hollywood! Without you we would have heaps of low budget entertainment that for the most part looks like utter sh*t run by basement stooges who wouldnt have a sweet f*cking clue how to find mass distribution to even have their films seen besides torrent sites...BUT f*ck YOU! YOU EVIL BASTARDS! Of course we wouldnt be able to waste an entire f*cking day of our lives bitching about hollywood flicks while sh*tting on other people who differ in opinion...BUT f*ck YOU HOLLYWOOD! YOU'RE EVERYTHING THAT'S WRONG WITH HOLLYWOOD, HOLLYWOOD.

Bunch of Hollywood f*ckers making Hollywood films...who the f*ck do they think they are?

wes craven won't be mad....that is of course if they DON'T involve him in it like the new nightmare on elm street....which is why i think that remake will be sh*tty as well...without wes craven there...freddy will never be true again...just my opinion about that, hills have eyes remake was good, but the 2nd sucked...still, the first had better acting than, do i have to say it??...halloween 2 remake and final destination 4?...i'll watch a remake...but only if wes craven is involved....otherwise it's not worth my time

hahaha! Either takes some balls or a whole lot of indifference to plug Creedence.

Personally, I've always wanted to use Bad Company's Feel Like Making Love anti-thematically during an intense war scene, but I don't think people would get it.

lets see...the first swamp thing was goofy, cuz the comic itself was kinda goofy....the second st alledgedly was based on the moore take...but was basically the same f*cking plot as the first movie...with 2 retarded kids added...they should just leave this alone
