looks just about on the good side of cheesy. Carlyle helps, although prefer when he's not a p*ssy, more of a mentalcase like in trainspotting.

They should have made it look more like a grindhouse genre movie, but they tried to glam it up and take itself too seriously.

I don't understand why people want to see the same movie over and over again. At least this version doesn't have STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN....

look up 'Battle Royale'
It's a movie about a bunch of school aged zipperheads running around killing each other in a contest.
The movie was "eh..." but the concept is very similar to this movie.

I'd rather see them getting it on in hentai mangas...

i think this is actually based off a british movie, maybe even of the same name, but the scenes from this movie are identicle to that one, even the tracker in the coffee

@Spooky - First, Battle Royale is more than just 'meh'. Maybe you just don't have the appreciation, for that genre of cinema, necessary to see how good it really is.
Second, The Tournament is nothing like Battle Royale. BR has high schoolers unwillingly pitted against each other for survival, because the adults have lost faith in them. The Tournament is about a bunch of assassins killing each other, with one priest getting caught up in the mix, and probably killing one person at the end.
Plus, this might be one forth as brutal as BR, if that.

Would of been better without the priest in.
Should of just made the story some smokin aces style shoot em up...would be better than watching some cheese where he drinks a tracking device with coffe :s

"Would of been better without the priest in."
But then we wouldn't have that gripping moral dilemma.
