Sam Worthington Talks "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"Posted: August 22nd, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Sam Worthington spoke to Moviehole about re-teaming with "Terminator Salvation" director McG. But he isn't interested in another "Terminator" movie, he instead wants to play Captain Nemo in the "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" remake.
Everything seems to be falling into place since McG has been saying that he wants Worthington for the lead. "I actually saw that online," said the actor. "I am like 'hey [McG], how come you've never talked to me about this?'"
The actor admits that he has previously told McG about his desire to play Captain Nemo, but didn't get the answer he was hoping for. "We haven't discussed it seriously. I wrote him an email and he wrote back saying 'I don't think you have these qualities, blah, blah...' and I wrote back saying 'it's your job as a director to bring it out of me,'" Worthington explained.
It seems that the email conversation took place back when McG wanted Will Smith for the lead. Since then, Smith has reportedly turned down the offer and the director is now reconsidering Worthington.

Yeah is ay go for it as well.
"We haven't discussed it seriously. I wrote him an email and he wrote back saying 'I don't think you have these qualities, blah, blah...' and I wrote back saying 'it's your job as a director to bring it out of me,'" Worthington explained.
It is because of that quote that i am actualyl startign to like this guy, he has the balls to tell a director to do his job! And Worthington seems to care more about the quality of his work, rather than the glitz and glamour of hollywood...That i respect!

If i were Sam i wouldnt take McG's offer
where does Mcg get off thinking he knows sam wouldnt be good for this role
Sam made T4 better than what it would have been, Marcus Wright was the only interesting character and he can prove to do action and hold the audiences attention
'I don't think you have these qualities, blah, blah...'
shut up McG! betcha if Christian Bale ranted about this you'd hire Sam quick smart, you seem to be bossed around by actors

just one question why does anyone give a shit, it has Mc(fuckwad,i eat cum)G attached to it.. everyone knows its gonna be shitty. Why do u think WillSmith didnt go for it. the guy has a shitty record. he is just lucky to have an actor like sam wanting to work for him. But give it some time. Im sure he will realize especially after working with real directors that he has better options...

Unfortunately for this talented actor, his first two films will be flops,Terminator Salvation and now Avatar.
McG and Cameron you have ruined any chance this poor fella had of becoming a star with your joke movies.
