"Avatar" Video Game TrailerPosted: August 21st, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
The trailer for the upcoming James Cameron-directed "Avatar" film has recently appeared online and today we have the trailer for the game, which hits stores on November 24th.
Taking place in the 22nd century on Pandora, an Earthlike moon, "Avatar" tells of a war between humans and the Navi. Humans can't breathe the air on Pandora, but there's a hope that creating a human/Navi hybrid could solve this problem.
Avatar is a 3D game, just like the feature film. The main character in the film is Jake Sully, a wounded marine who's come to Pandora for a second chance at valor. Paralyzed in combat, Jake inhabits an Avatar, which is basically a surrogate for him to explore the moon's surface.
The game may not use the same character, as its storyline does not follow the film. With the game shipping before the movie, it's likely that Avatar the video game, will be a prequel.

Wii sports has better graphics than this game.
Camera looks like it'll get in your way and change directions automatically too.

not totally sure why the trailer for the movie was linked for the video game trailer (oh burn). I really had hoped the game was going to be 60% live action and only 40% graphical. I would have laughed my balls off. Night Trap in outer space anyone?

"Night Trap in outer space anyone?"
There's so many storylines that are similar to this, that there's no point in comparing it to other things.
The smart people already know that it's a rip off of a lot of different movies.

Yes, Cupcake, it IS a "rip-off." You know who said that first? JAMES CAMERON when he said that it was a complete homage and "heavily inspired" by the scifi he grew up reading. Wow, you're really clever and edgy quoting A-list directors. :P
