Sean Connery's "Outland" Being Remade

Warner Bros have hired "Shoot 'Em Up" helmer Michael Davis to direct "Outland," a remake of Sean Connery's 1981 sci-fi film. Chad St. John, who penned the WB drama "The Days Before," will pen the new film.

The drama revolves around a police marshal stationed at a remote mining colony on Jupiter's moon Io, where he uncovers a murderous conspiracy threatening the entire Outland with collapse.

"We loved the original sci-fi film with Sean Connery," producer Gianni Nunnari said. "At its core, 'Outland' is a version of 'High Noon' in outer space, as two courageous people take a stand against a gang of ruthless conspirators at the highest level."

"We're staying true to the thematic heart of 'Outland' while expanding the space frontier concept," added Davis.

Outland

All the recent news, it's ALL about remakes.

WTF? I am watching this movie right now lol. They need a lead as credible as Connery was because I watch Outland and the second Connery puts on the security hat and walks down the gridiron hallway all I think is: "This guy was a f*cking badass."

Enough with the remakes! The original was awesome! Besides, don't people get paid to write movies anymore?

The first one was pretty good. If they do this right it might be promising. I liked deathrace. Again, for what it was, an action film. But it was really cool none the less.
