"Dirty Dancing" Remake in the WorksSubmit Comment
Production Weekly is reporting that Lionsgate is currently developing a remake of the 1987 classic "Dirty Dancing," from a script by Julia Dahl (Uptown Girls).

The original, stars Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, and revolves around a young woman falling in love with the talented Johnny Castle (Swayze). When her father forbids her to see him, she finds herself more attracted to him at the passionate latin dances he loves.

It went on to earn almost $215 million on only a $6 million budget. A sequel, called "Dirty Dancing: Havana Night," was later released in 2004, but it barely made back its $25 million budget.

lol...well there's some...but this is definitely not one of em...besides...the 2nd barely made its money back....thought that would've been proof enough that you just can't top the originals...not on all things

I just hope news of this remake doesn't actually KILL Patrick Swayze. You know he's not doing too good with his cancer right now.
