Frank Sinatra's Daughter Worried About Father's Biopic

Back in May, we reported that Martin Scorsese is planning to direct a Frank Sinatra biopic with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Phil Alden Robinson (Field of Dreams) writing the script about the life of the iconic entertainer.

Sinatra performed on more than 1,400 musical recordings, was awarded 31 gold records, received 10 Grammy Awards, and has appeared in 58 films, winning three Oscars and two Golden Globe awards. That's all in addition to a lifetime of humanitarian work.

Sinatra clearly has lots to be proud of, but his daughter Tina Sinatra is worried that Scorsese's vision might ultimately taint her father's legacy.

"Marty wants it to be hard-hitting and showcase the violent, sexually charged, hard-drinking Frank, but Tina wants to show the softer side of her dad and let the focus be on the music," NY Post source said.

The softer side would make for boring film. The movie The Rat Pack was pretty good, and showcased all members of the pack including old blue eyes.

We want mob ties, whores, booze, drugs, and the relationship Frank had with our last great president.

I'm a big fan of Sinatra and i would like to see the darker & softer side of him.

He can do both. Scorsese can show the softer side by illustrating a love interest and his humanitarian work, while having it conflict with his on the road lifestyle drinking and short fused temper.

The whole movie is just gonna be another Aviator anyway.

Shame this wasn't done 10 or 15 years ago, Bruce Greenwood would be choice for Sinatra, looks-wise.

As long as it isn't the formulaic cookie cutter bio pic. Frank wouldn't like that. I have faith that Marty will do him honor, as long as the casting is done right.

Why can't it show both sides as he was a man with both sides. I hate biopics that make the person look like angel even when being a devil, cough "Ray" anyone?

Frank Sinatra knew Ronald Reagan??

"On February 27, 1970 Sinatra sang at the White House as part of a tribute to senator Everett Dirksen. Over the summer Sinatra supported another Republican candidate as he declared for Ronald Reagan in his race for a second term as the Governorship of California.[46] Sinatra was also good friends with Vice President Spiro Agnew. Sinatra said he agreed with the Republican Party on most positions, except that of abortion.[65]

After a lifetime of supporting Democratic presidential candidates, Sinatra supported Richard Nixon for re-election in the 1972 presidential election. In 1973, Spiro Agnew resigned the vice presidency, amid charges of bribery, extortion and tax fraud; Sinatra helped Agnew pay some of his legal bills that he faced after his exit from office.[68]

Sinatra is awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Ronald Reagan. In the 1980 presidential election, Sinatra supported Ronald Reagan, and donated $4 million to Reagan's campaign. Sinatra said he supported Reagan as he was “the proper man to be the President of the United States… it's so screwed up now, we need someone to straighten it out”.[69] Reagan's victory gave Sinatra his closest relationship with the White House since the early 1960s, as a result of which Sinatra arranged Reagan's Presidential gala,[47] as he had done for John F. Kennedy, some 20 years previously.

In 1984 Sinatra returned to his birthplace in Hoboken, New Jersey, bringing with him President Reagan, who was in the midst of campaigning for the 1984 presidential election. Reagan had made Sinatra a fund-raising ambassador as part of the Republicans' 'Victory 84’ get-the-vote-out-drive.

love sinatra's music! however, i don't know if americans would want to see what he was really about. not the person he is made out to be in his reputation!

@Mink... lol!

Trump even talks about Sinatra's mouth in his first book 'The Art of the Deal!' - Frank telling his wife to shut up at the table... calling her bitch (or was it whore?), also at the table.

Then there is his depression about his singing/acting career... will it take off... where is the next role coming from (typical or artists, I'll grant you). But if they smooth this important Bio over... it'll play out like a RoboCop sequel. VOMIT!
