India Outraged Over Bollywood Actor's Detainment

Posted: August 16th, 2009 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
India Outraged Over Bollywood ActorSubmit Comment
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was in the US to promote a new film, "My Name is Khan," which is about racial profiling of Muslims after 9/11 attacks. But when he arrived at the Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, he was detained by US immigration officials, because his last name came up on a computer alert list.

Khan is a Muslim who is well-loved in a largely Hindu country. And now India is showing its anger toward America. Fans are burning US flags in protest and a Cabinet minister suggested a "tit-for-tat" policy, which would have Indian officials searching visiting Americans.

While being detained for 66 minutes, officials asked Khan questions about his stay in America and whether there is anyone in the US who can confirm his identity. The Indian star said: "I think it's a procedure that needs to be followed, but an unfortunate procedure."

Khan has acted in more than 70 films, and has consistently topped popularity rankings in India for the past several years.

India gets butthurt over everything, Just because they f*ck like rabbits and come to canada and suck up the welfare, they think they have a right to complain...

Wow. He was detained for slightly more than a hour, which is a few hours less than the 'detainment' everybody else goes through to LEAVE the United States. f*ck Bollywood.

And you gotta love the ironic situation.

You know Alex, all those hours pouring over hate mail to Ranger could and would be better spent throwing in an edit button. I promise you, the server won't crash from the additional data requests. Then again, maybe I should think while I type these comments and do a little proofreading...

Minkowski your right talk about an over reaction form India for detaining him for barely an hour. Just makes me laugh the way their goverment handled it, they're gonna do the same thing back. Just Stupid.

As for SpookyCupcakes comments. Those were pointless and served no purpose but to bash a perticular race or country and that makes you an *sshole. Your born an *sshole your gonna die an *sshole. If it was funny I would have commended you on it but you weren't.

Only a few ideas.

Hope that didn't offend anyone.

The US Government gave Legendary Director (Canadian) grief coming back into the US for a couple of his movies. One was: 'The Russians are coming... the Russians are coming!' They refused his entry and he wasn't allowed to see his family (then living in the US).

@jaz - Ummm, yeah. Spooky and Mink were expressing their opinions. As for your personal attacks of '*sshole'... ahh, you're a c*nt. Deal with it.

sh*t happens. It was a mistake. Life's full of them. A bunch of neurotic obsessed idiotic fans of some sh*t Indian actor got riled up because he was detained by post 9-11 policy. Their KING of dung was offended so they threw a temper tantrum. The world is FULL of stupid people, writing emails because they're offended at Ranger, burning flags because some pissy actor from some country that smells like burned rice and yak ass was detained for an HOUR, or a bunch of Islamic nuts starting violence over a goofy cartoon of Mohammed. The world is FULL of nuts just WAITING to start trouble because they got 'offended'.

See, religion and guns aren't the problem, the problem is the people I talked about above. If we ever got rid of THEM, the world would be a much more peaceful place. This I promise.

f*cking bunch of troublemaking, sensitive rabble rousing loser *ssholes with nothing better to do than grind some rusted axe.

Like some people haven't been 'detained' longer because their vehicle fit the description of a bank robbery getaway car! But Khan or whatever the f*ck his name is, is an ACTOR, so he's SPECIAL, so he gets a riot because he was (OMG! NEVER!) inconvenienced! Life's FULL of potholes and deadends and detours and slowdowns. Get over it. People always thinking they can control the world.

perhaps, but there is truth to them. They DO come to places like Canada to get of on the system. This is a FACT. And they also do have amuch higher 'fertility' rate than many other groups, like whites. So that's a fact too. So deal with the 'facts' and not who says them or why. Motive is not everything.

"Hick Racial Profiling...that's all that happened here. no lists- no warnings...some hick at the airport didnt like his face."

He came up on a list of questionable people. As a guy that likes to tout his iq, you'd think you'd understand that. Look at his first name: SHAH! Maybe, you think, the last name and the first name just MIGHT prompt someone to take a second look at the guy.

And if it was just some 'racist hick', the liberals best and only bogeyman to blame everything on, including global warming and the sinking of the Titanic, you'd THINK this would happen everyday, but in reality it does NOT, and in fact, airport security is STRICTLY prohibited from profiling. Those are facts, not bi-partisan innuendo.

It's like you get your worldview and political understanding from Family Guy clips or something.

"and come on guys- if some other country detained Johnny Depp you redstate motherf*ckers would be like, "Lynch em all!""

Are you serious, or are you trying to 'feed the flames'? I hope the latter, as then I could possibly respect your posts. Like hicks care about Johnny Depp. lol. Larry the Cable Guy maybe, but not effeminate uber-liberal wine drinking Depp. lol.

Yeah, having to take a sh*t because your stomach is bloated from eating ten cheeseburgers is "a procedure that needs to be followed, but an unfortunate procedure". A lot of sh*t is necessary and unfortunate. Wouldn't life be totally grand if we just get out of responsibility and every event that gives our lives less than perfect bliss?

The guy's already an actor with more Hindu p*ssy than you can shake a holy cows tail at, so why is HE complaining?? I'm not getting to bag some veiled hottie every night while making millions of shiny rupies starring in sh*tting Indian remakes of Point Break and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Why did Associated Press (and therefore WP cover this). This Actor himself said: "I think it's a procedure that needs to be followed, but an unfortunate procedure." So, I'm not even seeing where he himself has a real problem with this delay. He seemed pretty understanding of it.

I am not understanding why this is news.

I hope if you do think it's news, you can understand my opinion that it is not, and we can agree to disagree and make this world a better place to live. May I thank you in advance for your consideration and understanding.

Whoa, I had to sit down for a sec because that was so f*cking witty.

I love when people chalk it up to me being a "Thirteen year old girl", because either they imagine me being some cute 13 year old that they want to wank to or they can't think of anything funnier to say.

Calling me "spookysh*tface" and saying "Talking to yourself and people thst have the same brain compacity as you. I'm outta here. Exit stage right to get on with real life." and then having the audacity to call me unwitty is frighteningly hilarious.

According to Wiki:

"Actress Juhi Chawla also stated that it was "as absurd as Brad Pitt coming to India, being strip-searched, investigated and interrogated."

If Brad Pitt shared his name with some other guy, on a list of Indian terror suspects, (in other words, the state of the world was turned upside down, inside out), and India has suffered massive terrorist attacks repeatedly, then I don't know what idiot would express outrage. Jolie might.

And for the record, Shah Rukh wasn't 'stripped searched'. He was detained one hour. Nor was he 'interrogated'.

"Sir, what's you name and the nature of your visit?"

"Stop it! I do not suffer your interrogations!"

Way to blow it out of proportions, Chawla.
